We got 2 platters with brisket, pulled pork, and rib tips, mac n cheese and tater tots..and it was AMAZING with lots of leftovers for sandwiches tonight! Bud waited on us and was attentive and nice! Would absolutely recommend. Next time…the swamp donkey.

Oh gracious, where to begin! The host, while polite, was dressed in sweat pants and a hoodie. In a restaurant setting, UNACCEPTABLE! Prices were fair. Ate in the bar area. We ordered rib tips, which a side is paid for separately, and nachos. The rib tips were old and tasted like they were microwaved, very dry and rubbery. The Mac and cheese side was very pasty and old as well. The nachos were DROWNED in the cheese sauce. Couldn’t taste anything but that. Not much meat on them but, wouldn’t matter since there was so much cheese sauce. Neither meal was finished, to say the least! Best part of our meal was the 2 beers we had. Won’t be returning to this place!

Don’t waste your money getting food here. There always seems to be something wrong with the order. Got a taco salad that was 90% lettuce, 5% tomatoes, 3% olives and the final 2% was the ground beef. Was told that they pre-measure the meat yet there used to be more in it when previously ordered. The meat was also cold, the olives tasted rotten, and the salsa also tasted like it had gone bad. Save your money and get your food elsewhere.

The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 on the food was the brisket. Way too dry and not fatty enough for my taste. Still. 5 Stars overall. The sausage was amazing. Beef tips really good. Service and atmosphere is outstanding! Keep in mind that I am currently doing the Keto/Carnivore Diet, so I didn’t sample their sauces. I also passed on today’s special which is a Prime Rib Sandwich. Sounds amazing, but again, Keto, When in Harlan, you gotta go to Bucksnort!

3 days in a row I’ve ordered carry out from here. Every. Single. Order. Was missing something. There is nothing else out here and they take advantage of the hotel customers!
Signature moose burger – no bacon, no sauce and waay over cooked eggs. Chicken boom boom sandwich- no bacon, no lettuce, no tomatoes! Just chicken, sauce and 1 smashed cheese stick. When asked if they were out of lettuce and tomatoes, as well ( they were out of fries, mac and cheese and tater tots) they just asked if I want them on the side!?? No, I want what I (over) payed for! I want what is on the menu! PLEASE TRAIN YOUR COOKS AND STAFF HOW TO READ THE MENU AND ORDERS!!

We planned ahead to have a group of 26 motorcycle riders from Des Moines and Omaha meet for lunch. Shauntel was great to work with ahead of time, happy to have us come and made sure they were staffed to handle us. Once we got there the staff was great, they kept us in an area by ourselves so we could mingle, and the food was fantastic! They worked hard to keep up with our requests, especially with us moving around. We understood we wouldn’t all get our food at the same time with such a large group, but hats off to all of them for a great experience! It wasn’t our first time there and won’t be our last!

I feared for my wife’s reputation when, while visiting from Seattle, she spent a night at a questionable roadside motel beside an establishment called The Buck Snort. I was 1,300 miles away, left only to imagine the grim possibilities awaiting her as she sashayed in alone—at peak rutting season, no less.
She insists she is still a reputable woman. Yet since returning home, there’s a new wobble in her step, and every so often she lifts her nose to the wind, swiveling her head as though chasing some not-unpleasant memory. She won’t say what transpired inside the Buck Snort that night. Still, there’s a fresh gleam about her, a shine to her flanks I’d not noticed before.
I suppose I’ll have keep her as a trophy wife.

Stopped in with my fiancé since new ownership we usually order in council bluffs since it’s closer but we happened to be in Harlan. Buck snort has always been one of our favorite places to stop and get food It did not disappoint food was absolutely amazing as always , whitetail nachos always a fave of mine , fiancé said the burger was juicy and flavorful , tater tots crispy and fried to perfection. Service was great very friendly and efficient, restaurant was nice and clean. We will definitely revisit and recommend this location.
