Babyyyy let me tell you!!! Shout out to my new cousins Sug and Amutellier (girl forgive me for misspelling the name) lol who are family co-owners of this restaurant! My mother came across this establishment, read the previous reviews and began craving some good old soul food! We ordered oxtails with mac & cheese, candy yams, cornbread, potato salad, jerk chicken wings, fried chicken wings, and yellow rice. My parents and I were very pleased with the orders prepared by the loving hands of my new cousin Sug! The dinner was flavorful, fulfilling, reasonably priced, and made upon order! The ambience was chill with old school R&B playing in the back ground. The establishment was clean and lit dimly! The owners of this establishment were super hospitable, friendly, and exuding positive vibes! We will definitely return for other dishes to explode on our palates! See you soon cousins !!!

Found this family owned GEM when I was stuck out in Elizabeth about 3 years ago and boyyyyyy when I tell you!!! the food is to die for. YES, they take their time cooking it because it’s FRESH EVERY-TIME but that’s why I suggest you call ahead !!! Let me start off by saying all the hyped soul food spots around me don’t compare to brown derby , I’ll drive MILES every time I got the taste… place needs more recognition. They catered for our event last night and the food was DELICIOUS. My first time having it and it won’t be my last. I will be honest about one thing, the meatballs were a little bit tough, but the yams, mac, collards, yellow rice and chicken

So I was recommended by my work mom. I was craving baked mac and cheese and I knew she would know a place. I called and was greeted by a lovely and familiar voice( like I was speaking to my own aunty). She was clear and concise with all the answers when I asked inquisitive questions about the selection of food. I asked if she could actually wait before she started my order, because I was at the dog park and she obliged. The food was hot and fresh when it was picked up. I started eating it immediately and it was so satisfying. I haven’t had an authentic tasting southern cuisine in a very long time. I was highly satisfied. I only had two cons: I asked for collard greens and she gave me a mix of something, because she had ran out of collard greens. I was a little annoyed by that and I didn’t even bother tasting it. I would have rathered her just 86 Collard Greens all the way, than coming to that decision for me. The shrimp was very salty. That’s very common in our community but it is something we need to worry about. Overall I would highly recommended

I’m sorry, But I believe this may be the worst restaurant. We got a big order and they told us to give them 25-30 mins. I kid you not it look then 2 hours to give us our food. Then once we got it, she says “ Sorry, One of our fryers was broken “. Someone should have informed us on it before we order. I was suppose to have buffalo wings but I got another kind of wings.

Amazing Food!!! I ordered the salmon with grilled shrimp, mac and cheese and collard greens – also Henny wings and fries. Everything was fresh, hot, made to order, seasoned to perfection and delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
