One of the few Perks and Joys of working out of town and having to travel and be away from home for weeks at a time is getting to see and find new places to eat and all that town has to offer. Some are better than others and some you dont care to see again and some you cant wait to get back to. Siler City is def one of those when I leave I cant wait to go back to! As far as attractions.. things to do or nightlife.. it would prob score a “0” but in this lil quiet sleepy town out in the middle of nowheresville next to an old van in a cowpasture is a lil red brick building that will make you glad you found this part of the country. If you are not looking you would surely pass it by and miss oit on some of the best BBQ in NC ! It rained us out today Thursday August 10th 2023 and we left the jobsite around 11am so I went back to the Hotel got in a 2hr nap and woke up anround 4pm in the mood for some BBQ.. Brisket and Sausages. I had seen the name “The Broken Spit” pop up on my gps maps while looking for places to eat but for some reason passed it up and overlooked it for the last 2 months I been in Siler City. BIG MISTAKE! I made that my destination to have dinner this evening and wish I would have went there the first weekend I was in town. I walked into the lil red brick building and was greeted by a friendly young waitress and was told to sit wherever I liked as the place was slow and only a few customers leaving with take out orders. I sat down and ordered a sweet tea and the Combo Platter as I wanted to try a lil bit of it all. The food was out fairly quick and everything was GREAT! Not just “ok yea this is pretty good” but GREAT! Brisket was Juicy.. Chicken was crispy and flavorful and the Ribs were falling of the bone. The Pulled Pork was mouthwatering and paired perfectly with the Spicy Carolina Sauce that was my fav of the bunch and the Sweet Cornbread was soft and moist. I now have 2 togo boxes that I will pick on the rest of the evening and prob finish for lunch tomorrow but I just felt I really needed to let everyone else know if you are EVER passing through Siler City NC or just want to take a short road trip to a Great place to eat… you can thank me later and stop in at The Broken Spit @ 2734 Old U.S. Hwy 421 N, Siler City, NC 27344 !

Found ourselves in Siler City at lunch and a neighbor had spoken highly of this place so we headed in. Place is small. 4 outside tables. One of my relatives ordered the Kicking Shrimp appetizer….shrimp were small and maybe a tad overcooked. The red slaw (which I usually never like) that the shrimp sat on was AMAZING. I went with the Bean sandwich and tater tots. It was good. My sandwich seemed a tad cold. The secret sauce is tasty. This is an enormous sandwich. Very rare that I can not eat it all. Even rarer if I have skipped breakfast which I had. One relative had the burnt ends appetizer. He liked them alot. He gave me a bite. I wasn’t crazy about the sauce they were in. Other relative got the Chicken club and the Mac n cheese. It comes in a cast iron skillet. It is an upcharge. She let me sample it. It was good. The servings here are huge. I would come back! Our server was absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!!

My husband and I were passing through Siler City on the way to the beach and decided to stop here for some hot food. We both love barbecue and we’re excited to try this place. It was close off of the highway. The service was fast and very friendly. Our server Zoe checked on us frequently.

Been here at least 3 times. First time was pretty good. The second time was Mehh. Ordered the chicken club which menu stated included bacon and when I got it, it had bacon bits on it. Not at all what I expected. The flavor was just OK Third time I went for a take-out order. They were out of ground beef so I couldn’t have a cheeseburger, which is the only thing I want it off the menu so basically I didn’t get to eat. I ordered a salad with sliced chicken cutlet for my Mom. Chicken was OK, salad greens tasted like they were a bit old. Their salads only come with shredded cheese, croutons, and tomatoes. My mom doesn’t like tomatoes so I asked for sliced purple onion to substitute. I was told they only have pickled onion. So my mom’s salad was comprised of old lettuce, shredded cheddar, slightly stale croutons, and a chicken cutlet. Then it came time to pay the bill for my takeout. The young lady couldn’t figure out how to add the points so basically I didn’t get any points towards future purchases that day. The only thing good I can say about this place is that the first and second time we went the service was pretty good. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this establishment. I don’t like spending money on food that I’m not happy with.

Probably the best bbq I’ve had in a pretty good while. The prices were decent and the portions were massive. The staff is really cool and attentive. Didn’t have to get their attention for anything.

Small place outside of town. Very clean inside and the food was outstanding. As you can see we got a pile of food and loved all of it. Including the dirt pie (not pictured). Some of the best cornbread I’ve ever ate and the rest of the food was nothing short of amazing. Well worth driving off the path to go.

First off, my waitress was awesome. She didn’t come at me with my mouth full and ask, “How are you doing?”. If I were a regular, I would be happy to be greeted by here. Sad, I can remember her name, of course, that was 2+ weeks ago.

Off the beaten path, best kept secret and you MUST go! Hands down the best in the area for miles… If you enjoy better than “run of the mill” food, flavorful dishes, smiles and care, go see these folks. And enjoy the best BBQ in all of Siler City and beyond. If you don’t care for BBQ, go just for the sides. Again the best of the best!
