I was at the restaurant when this situation unfolded, and I feel it’s important to share what I saw. The staff especially the waiter, handled everything with genuine kindness and professionalism. At no point did they forbid the guest from eating their own food. On the contrary, they were very understanding about the dietary needs and clearly explained that while the guest was welcome to eat their meal at the table, the restaurant couldn’t heat it up due to health and safety regulations.
These rules are standard across many establishments and exist to protect all customers. The waiter communicated this calmly and respectfully, doing their best to accommodate within the boundaries of what’s allowed. My advice: if you have a strict medical diet, consider eating beforehand and joining your group with a drink or whatever your diet permits, that way, you can still enjoy the company.
It’s unfortunate that the situation was misunderstood, but from what I witnessed, the staff acted with courtesy and care. I’ve always had a great experience here, and I truly appreciate how they treat their guests, even in tricky situations. And yes, the food is absolutely delicious.
Good Peruvian food with reasonable prices. I ordered a chupe de camarones and it was one of the best I have eaten in the US. The seco de cabrito is also very good.
They have been able to limit the table sitting due to COVID-19, they have the bar area for takeout only and the other half is for indoor eating.
