Cute place! We had breakfast here every day on our trip. Nice people. Quick service. Clean bathrooms. Great food! Eggs are always perfect. Bacon is nice and thick. Pancakes are perfection with slightly crispy edges from cooking them right. I’m pretty picky about my coffee but it was decently strong with several flavored creamer options. Highly recommend!!

Best restaurant in Grand Marais! We came for Labor Day weekend and tried all the restaurants locally and kept coming back to this one. Breakfast food was seasoned so well, flavors made you want to come back- great portions! The view from the outdoor seating and any table inside is beautiful Lake Superior. The vibe inside is lodge and very clean bathrooms. Gift shop upstairs is perfect to explore while you wait for your food. 10/10 recommendation!

We stopped in for brunch at Breakwall Restaurant while visiting Grand Marais, and what a great experience! Nestled right in town and just a short walk from the Lake Superior shoreline and Agate Beach (a must-visit for rock hounding enthusiasts), this spot has small-town charm and big-time hospitality.

My wife enjoyed the traditional eggs & potato (perfectly cooked and seasoned), and I had the Frisco breakfast sandwich—which was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what I needed after a morning walk on the beach.

What truly made our visit special was our server, Laura. She went above and beyond—sharing stories and a bit of Upper Peninsula history, plus insight on the wild weather this region is known for. Her warmth and knowledge really added to the experience.

If you’re in the area, Breakwall is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, friendly service, and that unbeatable UP charm.

I try a lot of food all around and share my best experiences with everyone. I’ll be talking about the burger for years to come. Seriously the BEST burger I have ever had, hands down. From the toasted bun to the perfectly seasoned patty it wasn’t shy of perfection. However simple or ‘foodie’ you are they have many great menu toppings to hit whatever craving you have.

The clean and inviting atmosphere with a great view of the lake, friendly service, and excellent food…couldn’t ask for more.

What a gem we found! It did not bother us at all to order at the counter or serve ourselves drinks. This was kindly explained to us when we arrived. The tip we gave was well earned since we were cared for throughout the entire meal. The breakfast was amazing. I got the biscuits and gravy meal and it was outstanding. My husband enjoyed his French toast. We came here on our last day of vacation and we’re so glad we did!

Love this place, especially the breakfast meal options. My wife always gets the eggs benedict, but tried something new this time (Rich’s Biscuits & Gravy). It was very tasty. I always tend to go for the Yooper Man’s Breakfast with cheesy grits (which are always spot-on awesome)! Food arrives quickly and piping hot. Remember to order at the counter when you first walk in, and then choose your seat. You won’t be disappointed with this place! We need to try the lunch the next time.

We had a view of Lake Superior from our table.
The brussel sprouts & mushroom caps were delicious appetizers. The whitefish was fresh and the lobster, whitefish Mac n cheese was so good.
