Local sports bar and grill located just across the street from the Delta Center. Licensed as a restaurant .. so all ages are welcome. Definitely a different vibe than the one in S Jordan.
Tastefully decorated and well lit. Plenty of space .. tables are not crowded together.
Service was fast and friendly.
Food was made fresh and served hot.
Jalapeño Cheesesteak was filled with meat, peppers and loaded with cheese. Tasted rather bland and the meat was a bit too fatty. The fries are crisp on the outside, tender on the inside and served with a unique twist on fry sauce. Reasonably priced.
A great option for before or after an event downtown.

I recently visited The Break Sports Grill Downtown SLC, and while there were some positive aspects to our visit, overall the experience was mixed and fell short of expectations.
On the positive side, our waiter was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. They did their best to ensure we had everything we needed, and their service was a highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, much of the overall experience was negatively impacted by issues with other staff, particularly at the bar and in the serving area.
At one point, our food was delivered incorrectly due to a lack of attention and patience from a staff member. When a question arose about the orders, instead of addressing the issue professionally, she allowed the responsibility to fall on us, which was both frustrating and unnecessary. This incident, combined with a few other mistakes made during the service, made the visit more stressful than it should have been.
In terms of the food, it was satisfactory but not particularly impressive. Given the prices, I expected higher quality and more flavorful dishes. While the menu options are standard for a sports grill, nothing stood out as exceptional.
Overall, The Break Sports Grill Downtown SLC has potential, particularly when the waitstaff is attentive and engaged. However, inconsistencies in service, combined with mediocre food relative to pricing, make it difficult to recommend as a top choice in downtown Salt Lake City. I would suggest this restaurant could significantly improve with better staff training, attention to order accuracy, and a focus on delivering consistent quality.

This was a cool sports bar located near the Delta Center in SLC Utah. A great location with a variety of good choices for pub food. A perfect spot to catch some sports games with a lively atmosphere. Fast & friendly service. A definite good choice!

The Asian tacos thing was delicious, flavorful, light and gotcha wanting more.

Ive been to the break many times. The one is West Valley, the one in Murray, never had a problem with anything. We came and ordered our food, (Egg Rolls, Break Sampler, full order of wing’s Parmesan garlic and BBQ, and shrimp tacos. The taco ingredients looked old, the egg rolls looked old and were very hard. The chicken on the sampler was over cooked and almost chipped something. The wings tasted like they sat under a warmer and sauce was just poured all over the top. Not even tossed in the sauce. Marina did notice that we didnt touch the majority of our food, so we were given a discount. Very thankful. But idk if i would come back to this location.

We stopped in for dinner and the place was packed. They sat us down and said it’s going to be a few minutes because the servers are switching tables. Not sure why that relevant to the customer. It took about 10-12 minutes for someone to come to our table…Joseph. He was phenomenal, great sense of humor fantastic serve….this man needs a raise. My son ordered the birria Mac and cheese and Joseph said he was adding a side of the birria “juice”, I found this odd. He was not wrong!! It added a level of deliciousness to this dish. We know this because it’s the second day in a row he ordered this meal. I don’t know why it isn’t offered this way. It made the Mac and cheese so creamy and delicious. I would go back just to ask for Joseph. Great experience and great bar/restaurant. I highly recommend.

Was here twice. The first time was on a Wednesday evening. We had a great experience. Service was fast and friendly and the food was good (especially the onion rings).
The second time we went on a late Friday afternoon and perhaps we went at time when they were understaffed, but service was very slow. No server came to take our order and we were actually about to walk out and head across the street to STK instead, but then the bartender (?!?!) came and took our order. Food was still good and as you can see we ordered an extra side of just onion rings.
Overall, we were very impressed with their selection of burgers and sandwiches, but it seems like the service can be a hit or miss depending on when you go.

Ok, look. I’ve had lunch and dinner at many sports bars around the country, but never have had the caliber of food served at The Break. My wife and I ordered pickle fries… Folks, they were the best damn deep fried pickles we’ve ever had. They were fries! Not chips! Second, was the side Mac&Cheese. My wife got regular Mac&Cheese and I had the Surf&Turf style. Never, have I ever, thought to put other “meal” food in my Mac&Cheese, but that Surf&Turf Mac&Cheese has made a new benchmark what I need in life. Here’s the other thing, adding things to the Mac&Cheese, didn’t “make” good… Oh, no, that “plain” Mac&Cheese was Hella good all on its own, and somehow got better with add-ins. I ordered a smokehouse burger as my main piece, and sadly I disappointed Joseph (our server) by having eyes that were much more hungry that my stomach was, because I didnt even try the burger, I took the whole burger home, but let me tell you… leftovers have never been my jam, but that smokehouse burger… was amazing! It was better than any other smokehouse burger I’ve ever had. Even from the microwave next day! That burger was nothing short of amazing! Hats off to the chefs for our amazing food! And truly, Joseph our server was great. His attitude was on point, very polite, considerate, he upsold us on great food by knowing himself how great it was, and he made our experience great! We will definitely be coming back, and sharing with our friends and family how great this place is! Thank you to Joseph and the cooking staff!

Stopped by to have dinner and a beer. Bartender helped me right away, beer selection was great, having something for everyone. Ordered the smashburger out was delicious and perfectly cooked. Enjoyed 2 beers both good beers. Definitely will be back next time in town.

The food was amazing, but I would have to give props to Joseph. I got the birria Mac and cheese and he told me that I need to get some extra sauce with it that the birria is cooked in and it changed my life. If the sauce already goes with the meal, I genuinely think it is the best thing on the menu an easily a 10/10 option. Love Joseph and even with the mishaps with our table being out of his jurisdiction he served us and was very attentive, thank you so much.
