We were looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stop as my family needed to pass time before our flight. I’m thankful and blessed we stopped at the Bread and the Cup Cafe. I had a matcha and avocado toast while other family members had chai, iced hazelnut latte, tea, sandwich and coffee cake muffin. Everything was delicious and top quality. Best of all was meeting the owner, Carlos, a man of genuine faith and character, full of warmth and hospitality. This is a very special cafe. While I love that this is a Christian owned establishment and the love of God is readily evident in the owner, service and atmosphere, the attention given to serving high quality food, coffee and beverages are top notch! If I lived in town, this would definitely be our go to cafe!

Food was great, coffee was great. I kind of expected that from others’ reviews. I stopped to leave 5 stars for service, though. They were friendly and attentive. When the person who took my order realized there had been a mistake on my bill for something I didn’t intend to order, he made it right. Truly, it was my fault – he asked if I wanted the drink on the counter, I misheard and said yes. Turns out this was from another patron. I wasn’t going to worry about it because I was in relax mode, on vacation, and ready to forget about it. But as I ate my food outside, he came back with a receipt showing it had been fully refunded to my card, and apologized for the mistake, as if he was the responsible party.

Next time I’m in town, I’m coming back.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt intentional, warm, and thoughtfully designed. My latte was bold without being bitter, and I loved that it was made with coffee ice cubes so it never tasted watered down. The Mediterranean Feast avocado toast was honestly one of the best I’ve had fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I’ll definitely be back.

Stopped by the Bread and the Cup Cafe on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. A nice, big space with plenty of seating. I got a bottled juice which was fresh and refreshing. To eat, we got a smoked salmon bagel and a bacon and Swiss quiche which came with a side salad. It all tasted good! The owner was very friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back to give their coffee a try.

We visited The Bread and the Cup in Fort Lauderdale and had one of the most beautiful and heartfelt café experiences we’ve had in a long time. We were served by an extraordinary gentleman named Carlos Cruz, originally from Humacao, Puerto Rico, and from the very first moment, he made us feel as if we were back on the island.

We arrived very close to closing time, yet Carlos welcomed us with such warmth, patience, calm, and genuine hospitality—as if he were just opening the shop for the day. That kind of service cannot be taught; it comes from the heart. His Puerto Rican essence, pride, and love for serving others were present in every detail.

The latte he prepared was exceptional—crafted with care and intention, and you could truly taste the love in every sip. We paired it with a lemon poppy seed cake that was incredibly delicate and beautifully balanced between citrus and sweetness.

As an unexpected and deeply generous gesture, Carlos also gifted us a passion fruit and coconut cake—moist, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. It tasted like a kiss of Caribbean breeze, tropical and comforting all at once. It was a truly special way to close out the year on December 31st.

The energy of this place is warm, authentic, and welcoming. Carlos Cruz is genuine, kind, and a true ambassador of what exceptional hospitality looks like. This is not just a café—it’s a hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale.

We will absolutely be back. Thank you, Carlos, for making us feel at home and for reminding us that when service is done with heart, it becomes an unforgettable experience.

A local coffee ☕️ shop like no other. Service with a smile, and that I want you to be happy feel. The food was prepared fresh from a menu with more selections then might think for a coffee shop. The Bread & The Cup is an uncommon café, and in this instance that’s a great thing.

Another local gem in South Florida! The attention to detail in this establishment is outstanding. We were greeted by the owner, who ensured that our experience was first class. Their dishes are made to order, with fresh ingredients, and their coffees are excellent. The perfect spot to spend our Sunday mornings with family and friends.
