The second I walked ín the door , the owner stepped to the front of the counter, and greeted me with a big smile and said , “Hi ! How may I help you sir “.
I almost dropped to the floor in shock.
In S Florida , home of the surly fast food workers , it was refreshing.
I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich.
Chicken grilled to perfection , FRESH French bread , lightly toasted , caramelized onion, lettuce , tomato ; …
Hey , I was really hungry , and the sandwich was scrumptious. I inhaled it , rather than dined or ate it so I might have missed a few ingredients .
OH ! CHEESE ! the chicken, all the ingredients , covered in a delicious cheese I probably never had , and I’m sure I don’t know the name of ; . . .
By far , like ‘ Far Out , Man ‘, far ; ..
THE BEST SANDWICH I’ve had anywhere , in my 15 years in Fort Lauderdale.
Fast , friendly service.
The food preparation area, dining room , bathrooms , immaculate.
HEY !
Go to The Bread Shop , order the Grilled Chicken Sandwich ; . . .

Customer service – Ordered lunch for $35. The harassed looking manager charged us a happy total of $50. When we politely pointed out the “mistake” there was a bit of Hollywood before he announced a grand total of 45. Lol. I decided to give him another chance before asking him to shove the empanadas we ordered up an orifice of his that shall go unnamed. He reluctantly announced a correct total of $35 looking even more harassed and not looking happy.
The place: Pretty airy, spacious, light and put together fairly well in a nice plaza.
The food: Empanadas – we tried both the chicken and carne. Both were delicious as was the meat pie. The shredded chicken platter and the grilled pork with onions platter were both very good and priced at about 10 bucks and change each was fairly well worth the money. Of course that was before the attempted rip off, lol.
This place should have been an easy 4 or 5 but the blatant half as**d rip off effort and the poor cover up acting job by the manager or owner was a sad stinker of an experience. I mean times are hard but do not try to cover up the difference by preying on unsuspecting customers!
