Definitely surprised by the quality of the food. The place has a neighborhood bar vibe with quality restaurant dishes. Had the crab dip for an appetizer and the seafood wrap for an entree. The crab dip was great! The seafood wrap was pretty good. A bit wet and messy, but great flavor.

My first time here. I’ve heard a lot about the place from older Generations. As I always say I’m here to rate the food all of the other things are part of it with the food is where I live. Appetizer crab dip was first Jalapeño Crab Au Gratin. Rich but not to rich. Excellent amount of crab. Plenty of bread to load up. Very impressed. But maybe do a pickled jalapeno on top because I’m not going to eat those raw ones they’re just a little too tart. Key West Salad special. Absolutely amazing the portion was incredible all those mixed flavors that are going to make your palate happy. Only comment is maybe cook the shrimp just a little bit longer they were a tad bit on the light cook side. Finally The Bistro fillet sandwich. I don’t know if I’ve ever been into a tender piece of meat like that that was on a sandwich. But it was incredible. Only comment with it it came out a little bit lukewarm, it was not medium rare, and just needed a small touch of seasoning. But overall very good. Look forward to trying out other options the next time I’m there

Went here this past weekend with a large group. The service was outstanding. Sally was our server, and she was just perfect. We really appreciated her attentiveness and recommendations. The food, was really and truly outstanding. Everyone, and I mean everyone, raved about how great the food was. The only drawback was the temperature of the restaurant (not the food) was a little too cold. However, it was one of the coldest days of the year, thus, the outside temperature was likely making it a major challenge to keep the restaurant comfortable. We will definitely be back!

We were looking for a more traditional brunch and landed here. The food was good. The price better. The frosted pear martini was a hit. Justice our waitress was the absolute best in service delivery, communication and checking in. She was a bright light for a Sunday morning. The way Steve hustled back/forth delivery table service for the hot station was very impressive. More importantly, the way he engaged us made it feel like we were at home having breakfast. I think we found our new Sunday Brunch spot.

Stopped here for lunch with my husband. The food was absolutely amazing and would have easily been a 5 star experience but the service was beyond SLOW and inattentive. The waitress was sweet but the restaurant wasn’t busy and she kept disappearing. Even with the subpar service, I couldn’t give less than 4 stars because the food was just that good. The cream of crab soup had a large amount of crab on the top and was hands down the best cream of crab soup I’ve ever had! The Maryland Crab soup was also delicious. The old bay wings were tasty, good quality, and decent size. My husband had the santa fe wrap which he couldn’t stop raving about. I had the crab pretzel as my meal because it was that amazing! We split a slice of HOMEMADE blueberry cheesecake which was the perfect deliciousness to end our meal. Don’t plan to go here for a quick meal and you won’t be disappointed. The food really does make the wait worth it.

This is old school Baltimore and it’s great. We got the oyster stew and it was perfect….one of the best we have had. We had the Rocky Salad which is a beautiful salad w pan seared rockfish. It was excellent. Also got the crab cake entree. No fillers and all jumbo lump. The Service was wonderful. This is a must stop!

The sandwichs that we bought were very expensive for what we ordered:
Chicken Caesar Wrap –
Too thin, overly grilled chicken with flavorless Caesar dressing. I didn’t enjoy this expensive wrap. I could only taste the tortilla.

Tuna sandwich –
Barely had tuna in the sandwich, so it was basically a lettuce and tomato sandwich with a hint of tuna.

Fries – I paid for a full portion, which i didn’t receive. They were alright, not good, but just ok.

I have been a loyal customer at Bowmans for approximately 3 years.. The atmosphere has always been fabulous. The servers, bartenders and the host is what has kept Bowmans afloat. Management is less than perfect. For him to have loyal customers, black, white and in between he shows little to no appreciation.Recently the food has significantly improved..I have not eaten anything new, just my usuals.I have heard some customers say the food has improved..Whereas others say different..But overall the comments that I hear is that the food and the options has improved. As well as the presentation.
As of this week the prices have gone up $1 to $3..increases..Ok we all are aware of the cost of food has sky rocketed ..Everything has gone up..but our paychecks…So to me a small increase price is understandable..But I feel the manager is to aggressive with his increases . Especially since the portion size has decreased And some things taste different now. I do not feel its the chief, I feet it is the quality that has changed.”.If it aint broke don’t fixit”.With the prices, decreasing portions, and changing the quality is a set up for failure. Bowmans survived and thrived during COVID..The manager did nothing special to show appreciation towards the patrons..including myself. But we remained loyal..This is how he shows his appreciation by increased prices, decreased portions, and decrease quality..I do pray he sees and appreciate how blessed he has been, and that he softens his heart ,change his mind..treat all loyal customers with respect, black white and in between..Bowmans will thrive for years to come!!

I have not been here in 8 years. The last time i came it was a solid 4 out of 10. I was even reluctant in coming here. I am so glad i have it another chance, it is amazing. I decided to get a variety of options. French onion soup, Big mac flat bread, Crab dip, drunken noodles and creme brulee. Everything was amazing

Ruined our 25th Anniversary Dinner!
We had been a frequent customer in the main dining room for years but we left the area for a while. Came back for our 25th anniversary dinner and found out that the main dining room is for large groups and by reservation only – was made to sit on the bar side.
Ordered 3 prime rib dinners, medium rare, au jus on the side. Waited for an hour to get the food and the steaks were medium and covered in au jus with more au jus on the side. Sent the steaks back and had to wait another 10 minutes to be told that they had no more prime rib and they were trying to “remedy” the situation in the kitchen. Found out later that they were going to dip the steaks in boiling water to get the au jus off and then serve us the same steaks.
We said we no longer wanted the steaks and just wanted to leave. The manager thought that it was appropriate to charge us for the one side item that came with the steaks and our drinks (2 waters and a coke), we had no appetizers. Hard to imagine food quality and service dropping more than this. The Bowman used to be a great restaurant. Not anymore.
