The Bougie Pig makes some of the best coffee in Lawrence — truly. They use Repetition Coffee, and for whatever reason, it always tastes perfect here in a way other spots don’t quite nail. The place can get very busy and crowded, which might be why the vibe sometimes feels a bit cold, like you’re not ‘cool enough’ to be there. Still, the coffee is consistently amazing, and I hope one day the atmosphere matches the quality of what they serve.

KU football weekend. Late night stop for a drink. Small cozy bar with friendly crowd. Bar tenders not that friendly unless you were a regular patron. Sat at bar and enjoyed talking to others waiting to order drinks.

A true gem of a find on an aimless wander through Lawrence. Lively patio outside, open seats around the bar inside with dim lighting and a chill soundtrack – a great space to disappear for a minute. The butter washed gin vodka pickle brine cracked pepper martini was the perfect cap to a perfect summer weeknight vibe.

This is a cozy spot for craft cocktails or specialty beer. I was visiting from North Carolina and was very impressed by the bar service here. Neighborhood is very clean with great pizza near by. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Lawrence.

you’re walking your immediately captivated by the variety of colors which place is clearly stylish and quite well appropriated but one thing that it does is it answers with really good food
I had a hot chocolate it’s a friend of mine had a carrot cake which I tried and honestly it was so good I think it should be smoked from a pipe with a friend of mine and she’s eating quiche or was it this it was a spinach quiche?
I can tell you she ate it so fast I don’t even think I have time to take a picture and she had a mocha with whip cream the sweetness of which was literally like kissing the sweetness of whipped cream.

Best Daiquiri I’ve had in my life. Very balanced drink, in the IBA classic cocktail style. Beautiful and cozy atmosphere. Them being open late meant I could come here after a concert and cool off. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent, cozy atmosphere and great service, even late at night just a few hours from their 2am closing time. Staff was very knowledgeable and kind. The patrons themselves we’re a fun, lively bunch. Even during a brief power outage, everyone was still in good spirits.
Wonderful atmosphere to sit and talk over a good cup of coffee, but wouldn’t recommend it for studying or a first date.

Not a single TV in this place. What the hell am I supposed to do, talk to people? Ridiculous! What about when my sportsball team is down by a score in the bottom of the ninth quarter? I repeat, No TV! I have been going here for months and I’ve had to talk to my spouse every single time. Get it together Bourgeois Pig. Your amazing staff and cool building will only take you so far.

6/2022 update from 2019 — the $6 Tank 7 pint, Lawrence’s best beer deal, has disappeared with our inflationized paychecks. $10 now, but from $7 a few weeks ago. STILL Lawrence’s best bar, tho… No matter the cost, any bar that pours a 16 oz. Boulevard Tank 7 is tops in my book, but then you add some art house vibe? Heavenly.
