Such a treat. Friendly servers/staff. Even the regular patrons are warm and welcoming. Came here two days in a row, we liked it so well. 😉
So refreshing to have a semi-normal patio experience. Great service on the patio with self-mix/to-go drinks, take-out eats, and a nice lake-woods view. Try the tatter-tot hot dish and consider chicken nachos to share with a friend or partner.

Appropriately named and amazing. Great drinks n menu. Prompt and attentive service.(Update 2023) Dante was a fantastic bartender. Never had to wait to order and everything showed up extremely fast. The food was on point, we tried the Mahi Tacos and Gyro Bites. Everything was cook to perfection and drinks we made and mixed just right.

It’s your up north food spot. Great staff good food. Mac and cheese burger is the best. Good beer selection and great whiskey selection too. I’d give it five stars, but for a bar it ain’t no Grumpy’s. 🙂

We stopped in while on vacation and had the Bang Bang shrimp, brisket, tacos, and Wisconsin cheese curds. The Rhubarb Old Fashioned was really good and so were the brisket tacos. The shrimp was fine, but I’m from WI and the cheese curds are frozen and fried, not hand dipped like most of our restaurants/bars do. Our server was very friendly and there is a nice view of the lake.

Enjoyed a burger on the deck. Food was decent, not great. Burger was overcooked and dry rub chicken wings tasty but not the best value. Packets for dressing vs. the real deal. Atmosphere was fun with lovely views. Great staff and I would like to try it again.

Usually one of our top 4 places in the area. Tonight not so much. Please don’t let this place go backwards. First, table top was sticky… not just in one or two spots. The whole table top. Drinks were good. Service excellent. But food quality was sub par. Had walleye sandwich, very thin, over cooked, chewy, dry. 6 bones in mine. My wife sent hers back. They did sub another entree. Also, dead flies on all the sills around us. If you can’t keep the dining room clean where your customers eat I have to assume the kitchen will be getting the same attention.

Ox Lake Tavern is the new name, new owners. The menu is just so small. It’s a small place but there are no veggies to add to your small plates, no side salad. Dry rub wings were not noted as spicy, I took one bite, too spicy, it’s a shame, the Bourbon Room had great wings. We want to love this place and will try again but think they need to make some additions to the menu to draw people back. We got right in two weeks ago when everyone else was full, that says something for sure. I do love their Swedish Meatballs and hear the chicken sandwich is good, the mini Gyros are good, just really hard to eat, mini Naan are cute but too small. Hoping for some changes, it was a frequent stop for us in the past!

Our waitress was very inviting. The food was really good. The locals were less then welcoming and often stared at us throughout our dinner. We went for my birthday dinner and we dressed up a little. Guess it was just too much for the locals to handle. If it weren’t for the food and our fabulous server, I don’t think we would ever go back there.
