The Boston serves a variety of dishes from Sushi to Steak to Wok Stir-Fry to Cajun and American traditions. Located in a restored building from the 1800s in the heart of downtown Amite, the restaurant received it’s namesake from the original Boston Restaurant established in 1809. Sometimes we go against the reviews and we did this time. Arrived at 1:30, hostess was friendly, seated quickly. Ordered fish lunch with salad and one with sautéed green beans, the other with fried rice. Everything was delicious. Fish was crunchy and juicy. Beans were amazing, had some crunch. Fried rice was very good. Had the cheesecake of the month, cookies and cream for Halloween. Dessert was amazing. Would return. Server was Ragean, excellent.

We visited The Boston Restaurant on a Saturday and were sat very quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good and they seemed busy, so I took that as a good sign. They offered a wide variety of dishes ranging from salads, steak, sandwiches and even sushi! My husband ordered the Cevichi salad (not pictured) and the Flaming Lips roll. Both were excellent! I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad and my son had the steak tips. The chicken and steak were flavorful and cooked perfectly. We all enjoyed our dishes and I would recommend The Boston Restaurant!

We had a ladies day out and chose The Boston as our luncheon spot. It was everyone’s first time dining at this restaurant. We were absolutely delighted to find excellent customer service, great food at good price and a phenomenal selection to satisfy anyone’s craving. We’ll make the hour long drive again.

Our Waitress Kaylee was very very rude. If I never went back it would be because of her. I have a service animal. Every one in there knows her. My service animal name is Girlfriend. The place is really great. But Kaylee is not a good asset to the place.

Mid October we ate at this restaurant since we were at Amite and had heard such rave reviews about it. This was our first time going here and we had a party of four. When we walked in there wasn’t that many people in there yet it took a few minutes before anybody was able to sear us. The first impression of the place seems a little fancier than most restaurants, but not anything extravagant.
It was our first time here so after placing our order for our drinks, we requested more time to look at the menu. The waitress came back twice and we finally placed our order. There’s a lot on the menu to choose from and it had the sink in a little bit as to exactly what I want. Most of us decided to go with the sushi varieties and my son ordered a cheeseburger. He likes a plain cheeseburger so it’s not anything extravagant. The order took quite a while to come to the table and I imagine it was probably because of the sushi. I will say that it wasn’t that bad and it was okay.
The cheeseburger however, the bun was burnt and the meat itself was dry. Upon finishing my meal it took a while for anybody to come by and take our payment or give us the bill. The waitress came back I believe once to fill our drinks which is not quite enough service. The extremely long wait for a bill and the burnt cheeseburger is what made me decide. I will not be back. Also the cost was a little bit steep for the quality and the service was very poor. I’m not sure what people rave about when it comes to this place, but definitely to my experience it was very low on a scale of quality.
If I were in Amite again and was looking to dine out. I would definitely make an effort to drive back to Hammond for a choice of dining. I think it’s a shame that the place has some originality but yet it was very disappointing. It’s got potential however the waitress that we had provided poor service, the wait time to be seated even though there was nobody in front of us and there was only a few tables occupied, combined with the price of the items would make me recommend anywhere but this place. This is an unbiased and honest review and it’s not anything other. I’ve personally never heard of the place and it was other people who had told me of it. I’m not sure what they’re used to but my experience was not a good one. I only took what was remaining home for the dogs. But I threw the bun away because it was definitely burnt. Black carbon that’s actually a carcinogen when it gets to this point. My son actually ate half of it and normally he would eat the whole thing at other places. Anybody who has any food experience working in a kitchen should have seen that this was unacceptable.
I want to say out of all fairness I really did enjoy the place. I think it’s original and different. I think some things could have been improved, however it may have just been a bad day for someone. We’re all humans and things happen. More than likely I’ll try this place again.

It has been awhile since I went to the Boston Restaurant and so I decide to do another review during the Lunch hour.
We were greeted by the Hostess as soon as we stepped into the restaurant and were seated quickly even though they were busy. (Sometimes on really busy days there is a wait list to be seated).
Our server Kaylee came to table and took our drink order, after she brought our drinks we ordered…
Pepper Jack cheese sticks (Appetizer)
Clear Soup (Sushi Starter)
Bbq yellow tail (cook sushi)
Burning man roll (fresh roll)
Shaggy roll (cook sushi)
Crunchy wasabi tuna (Off the Grill)
Beef and broccoli (Wok Stir fry)
Black pepper beef tenderloin (Wok Stir Fry)
We didn’t get the chance to try dessert but the food we did order was delicious made exactly the way we ordered it.
I just want to say thank you to the Boston Restaurant, our server Kaylee who check on us multiple times while we were dining, Sushi chefs Renee & Kolton for the Sushi and all the chefs in the kitchen who help prepare our meals and also everyone that keeps the restaurants dining room and restroom clean. Three out of the four dishes we ordered yesterday were absolutely awful. Ordered tuna which was overcooked and tasteless, chicken Alfredo had no seasoning and tasted like canned chicken, the sushi rolls were too salty and were not as good as Rouses. The one decent meal was the stir fry. Never again. I was very disappointed.

4/29/2023 Almost got the chicken parm this time… but there was a stuffed chicken special that sounded fantastic… and it was! Had a little spice to it that was unexpected but appreciated. Next time, I’ll substitute the green beans out… not because they were bad, but that I just would have preferred something else. Fantastic meal.

It was a Friday evening, and the wait can get quite long… so plan accordingly. Intended on ordering the sushi… but the stuffed redfish special caught my eye. It was fantastic… I’ll be back to try the sushi another night!

Me and my Boyfriend had a really great time mostly because we was with each other. My boyfriend got the lo mein noodles platter with Chicken and vegetables with ice cream. His stuff was ok, it was good just felt like he needed one more thing. I got the mandarin plate (I think) with chicken veggies and rice the sauce is really good I just wasn’t a fan of the vegetables but that’s my fault. I had got the special dessert with brownies and bread pudding the ice cream was good and the sponge cake I just didn’t know the brownie was dark chocolate (I don’t like dark chocolate).

We live 45 minutes away from The Boston and my wife wanted to try it. We had a decent experience here except the hostess wasn’t very friendly when we walked in. We requested a booth and was told none was available. We would have waited for one but she was very pushy about us getting a table. I wasn’t impressed with her at all. Service was good and we received our food in a timely manner. Now that my wife’s been here, it’s highly doubtful that we’ll be back due to the 45 minute drive and a bad experience with the front of the house.
