Only place to eat in the area and it was great! Worth the drive to stop for lunch. We were traveling and stopped in. The food was very good. Home chili even. Portions were more than enough. I even apologized for not cleaning my plate but I just couldn’t do it. Great chili burger and more than enough fries. For an out of the way place the prices were very reasonable. The staff treated everyone like a local and the service was outstanding. Even visited with the cook a bit. It’s a little short but a few minutes longer to go this way from Vegas to Tahoe but it’s more than worth it just for a stop here.

As reviewed by a 9 yr old: Simple food, great service. The place itself has a rustic feeling, and even has a pool table and slots.
Although the cheese fries are meh – the chili itself tastes like spaghetti sauce with beans- the jalapeños and ranch made it tastier.
The burger was nothing like the chili fries. I got the big bubba burger, and it was great!
The patties were flavorful and the bread is toasted! We also got other items: a club sandwich, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. Decent rating from the group for those.

The name suits the place perfect! Its definitely in the boonies but its a great spot to grab a burger and a beer. We both got burgers and they were delicious. The bartender was very friendly and great to chat with. He told us a lot about the area and how it had changed over the years.
It’s always nice to support small local places as we pass through. Worth the stop if you’re in the area!

Cool little spot really in the”boonies”. Service was acceptable, food was good. I lived the “feel” of the place. The few locals in at the time kinda stared us up and down a bit. I just figured that they thought we were beautiful. Lol. Might as well look at things with a positive aspect…

The place could use some gussying up but the burgers were good and the portions were generous. The smell of burnt fryer oil was a turn off and the menus were sticky…but all in all a good family friendly small town place.

Got the Bubba burger, best darn burger I’ve ever had. The rating is for the food. They are a nice laid back country food place so don’t be in a rush and expect things to be hurry up and ready.

Boonies is great. Food is good, drinks are cheap. They got multiple TV’s, pool table, foosball, arm wrestling station, juke box, slots, wood stove, pop corn machine on the bar top, nice real homey feeling to it. If I was local I’d be a regular.
