Posh old-world dining room delivering sophisticated Indian meals along with live piano tunes.

Came here recently for lunch. My friend and I both ordered off the DC Restaurant Week menu—comes with an appetizer, entree and desert ($35 per person). All entrees are served with rice and naan. Overall, food was good. The Sweet Potato Chaat was sweet and spicy but overloaded with onions which I didn’t like. Reshmi Kebab was not on a skewer, but rolled into a long minced chicken log—it was good, but the meat was bland, you’ll need to dip in the sauce. The Bombay Thali (vegetarian) was EXCELLENT—flavorful and beautifully presented on a silver platter with six small dishes and yellow rice. Chicken Makhni was delicious too! For dessert, wasn’t a fan of the Mango Panacotta but really enjoyed the Rice Kheer (rice pudding).
Our server was nice and attentive. Food took a while to come out for each portion—I get that they don’t want you to feel rushed but it was a long wait in between each section. Even paying the bill took a while.

We had the best time ever here!! Came with my boyfriend after his professor recommended it to us and it was lovely. The severs were attentive and helpful. The food was incredible and it also had a great vibe with good music. I am gluten free and they were very accommodating and informed on the menu. Would totally recommend this place and we will definitely be coming back!!!

It is one of the best fine dining Indian restaurants at DC. We had dinner for my birthday and everything was great. The ambiance and service are superb, but some of the food items were bland. The dahi puri chat was good. The vegetarian thali was superb. The fish curry was sour, and the okra fry was ok. It needed some seasoning. We ordered Rabdi as dessert and it was very delicious. They also brought me a birthday sorbet glass. We enjoyed our dinner and had a great time. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience.

A standout place for Indian cuisine, and my recent delivery order left me craving a full dine-in experience. The club thali was too good, offering a delightful mix of dishes that hits all the spots of your taste palate. The dal makhni was a highlight, creamy and rich, pairing perfectly with the fresh naan bread. The fish was incredibly flavourful, with well-balanced spices. Highly recommend

Visiting DC for the first time with my 80-year-old dad and we had the most wonderful experience at this restaurant last night (Aug 16)
The service at this establishment was A+. We had a reservation, but we got a table in the back of the room. Few minutes later, the gentleman who had initially seated as came back and moved us to a table right in the centre next to the piano – a wonderful gesture that we received without even requesting.
I was extremely pleased with our server, Robin. What a kind and enthusiastic gentlemen.
My father had the Chicken Biryani and I had the Club Thali and we also shared the fish wrapped in banana leaf. Now, my father can be a real picky eater, especially because of his health so in his exact words “ this was the best Indian meal he had this summer”. My club thali was not only aesthetically pleasing, but also very tasty.
We finished off with a delightful serving of the Rabri and the most fresh and refreshing mango cheesecake.
Overall a memorable experience in find Indian fining. I’ll definitely be recommending this to my friends and family. Thank You Bombay Club’

The service was fantastic. Our waiter Stefan made some amazing recommendations and, becaus eof him, I can personally reccomend there black lentil curry off their vegetarian menu which was absolutely phenomenal.
We also had a wonderful member of the staff at who made us some fantastic drinks including a new Orleans classic in there Vieux Carré which was amazing.
Though pricey absolutely worth the visit for some of the best Indian Food in DC.

Overpriced and disappointing. We were exhausted from walking and decided to stop here for lunch, but the $30 thali was a letdown — tiny portions, no plain white rice (just a small serving of lemon rice), and only one naan. The veg and non-veg options were basically the same gravy, with meat added to one. Definitely not worth it. If you can, drive a little further for better food at more reasonable prices.

This place is superb! We are not so familiar with Indian cuisine aside from the chicken biryani & butter chicken take-out near us, but we had the privilege of dining here with our Indian friends who have been regulars here for 20+ years.
Here were the dishes that stood out:
-Crispy kale: my absolute FAVORITE dish here. A must order! Flavors/textures are well balanced & addictive.
-Crab masala: so good. Nice crunch to it & generous amount of crab meat
-Fish in banana leaf: incredibly light & tender
-Adraki lamb chops: really good. Perfectly cooked & tender with a nice spice rub.
-Green chili chicken: one of my hubby’s favs but beware, it’s hot hot!
-Dal makhni: hands down the BEST lentils I’ve ever had in my life. Also a must order.
-Naans are incredible here. Particularly the garlic naan. The best I’ve had.
-Spiced chocolate sticky pudding: no words. Rich but amazing!
-Green cardamom rice kheer: my favorite dessert. Light, refreshing & not too sweet.
Overall, great dining experience & our friends vouched for its authentic-ness. It’s small-plates/tapas style, so it really adds up but its worth it. Excellent quality of food & service & we can’t wait to be back to explore the rest of the menu!

What a place. It gives Indian food a modern twist. The crispy kale chaat was by far one my favorite entres. The main course has some extraordinary dishes that you don’t get to try at every Indian restaurant – Green Pea Kofta, Chicken Makhani, Bharwan Aloo & Daal Makhani which were very well presented and had an excellent taste. The only thing that caught us a bit off guard is the quantity of each dish is fairly less compared to other restaurants. But overall a great place to enjoy a fancy lunch or dinner.
