5 stars — incredible food and amazing service!
The variety here is outstanding. From the chocolate donuts and falafel to the fresh fruits, breads, and incredible honey flavors—everything is delicious. The yogurt is fantastic, the fresh juice is refreshing, and the hot chocolate is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve never been a big fan of falafel, but the seasonings they use make it truly delicious. Our waiter Ibrahim took good care of us. Highly recommend!

We stayed at this hotel for several nights and ate at the restaurant “The Blue” every day. The food was amazing and the service outstanding – a special thank you to Ahmed and Amr, who were very attentive and friendly! The most important thing for me as someone with coeliac disease was that they offered multiple gluten-free options, which were clearly marked on the menu (e.g., risotto, steak, salad, carpaccio, lamb, gelato). They also serve gluten-free bread. At breakfast, there is a small gluten-free section, boiled eggs, and lots of fruit. I didn’t have a reaction, and everything was absolutely delicious. Would recommend staying at this hotel (Kempinski) and eating at “The Blue” when visiting Cairo!

February, 24th at 9:15 p.m. we were standing at the entrance of the Restaurant because we wanted to get a table for two.
At the entrance a waiter, wearing a black suit and black glasses was also standing there talking to a Lady 5 who was wearing a Chador. This talk was taking 5 minutes while he has ignored us. Then he went away without paying attention of us. He then continued the Smalltalk with the Lady at the table.
After another waiting time of 5 minutes we went away ( in addition we were waiting 10 minutes at the entrance to get guided to a table) to the Concierge to make our complaint.
He informed the Manager who 5 minutes later appeared to listen to our wish to get a table for two.
As we have seen before more than 50% of the tables were free and available although we have seen that the tables have not been cleaned and were full of empty bottles, dirty plates and glasses.
Then the Manager ( wearing a grey Blazer) disappeared and went upstairs to the Restaurant. We were irritated although he said that he want to prepare a Table for us..
Another 5 minutes later he returned downstairs with two Ladies..
Then after a while he finally returned to us and we got a very small table next to a dirty table which wasn’t cleaned! See picture!
Then the waiter from beginning of my Story appeared and has asked only my Partner about her wish of a Drink. She has ordered Mineralwater while the Waiter has not asked me about my wish.
My Partner got her Drink and then I was allowed to make my order for a Drink.
After getting it I wanted to make the order for our meals but the Waiter disappeared and left me speachless.
5 minutes later another waiter appeared and I have made my order for Burrata and Pasta with prawns.
The Manager with the blue Blazer told me ” You will get
something COMPLIMENTARY “.

15 minutes later we got served while our table next to us still wasn’t cleaned!
The big prawns were served separately on a plate and not were put on top of the Pasta like it is done in Italy. The size of the prawns were big and too big to put on the Pasta and to cut it there.
The taste of the Pasta was below average and the Burrata was sour and got returned! It wasn’t fresh!
This meal was exchanged into CAPRESE.
That meal was okay although the presentation was not more than below average.
After 30 minutes the table next to us was partly (!!) cleaned.
After 90 minutes we have asked for the bill.
While the Manager then presented us the bill he said that we will get a Discount of 10%.
2 minutes later he returned and said that we will get 15% Discount.
Then we have controlled the bill and saw that the returned BURRATA was still charged. We have complained about it and afterwards we got the correct bill charging the cheaper Caprese instead of Burrata.
When we left the table next to us still was not completely cleaned and the waiter said to me :
” I feel sorry for you “.
There is nothing to be added!

Big shout out to the baker Hala. She made our breakfast for 3 days to be out of this world. She brought us fresh tamyah (falafel), fresh baked bread, and fresh Fater Mishaltet with honey and cheese wooow

The food is great, service is exceptional, very clean and tidy.

Overrated and very expensive. They started serving on a dirty tablecloth. I had to asked to replace it. They brought appetiser but no water. I had to ask twice and wait for 10’. The bottle of 0,75l water costed 7 euros! I ordered medium-well done beat fillet. It came burnt. Staff seems lost to the translation. The dining room is depressing. Total disappointment.

To start, the Blue has excellent service. The staff were welcoming and very professional which is why we were shocked by the state of the actual cuisine. Of the four starters three of them had a major problem : on the menu, the arancini was supposed to be served with beef, there was no beef. On the menu, the mesclun salad was supposed to have arugula and it had none. Also on the menu was the fried sea food mix which was supposed to include fish, but there was none. Only top of that, the sweet potato was totally uncooked.

Only the bruschetta was passable although only one of the four pieces of baguette actually have bruschetta on it. The other three is the restaurant’s take on bruschetta (olive or pepper tapenade).

On to the main courses. The smoked duck risotto was so salty that only one bite was taken and the duck itself is so dry that it can barely be chewed. The chicken parmesan was so far from any kind of chicken parmesan ever seen that we were shocked. Impossibly dry chicken breasts covered by a mushroom goop a couple croutons. Finally, the Australian rack of lamb which was neither Australian nor cooked to the same level. Some well done, others medium rare. Even the potatoes surrounding the lamb were undercooked although miraculously had good flavour when compared to everything.

The only saving grace of this restaurant’s food, were two of the three drinks we ordered. The pink lady was lovely and so was the apple cooler but the lemon zest guava tasted like simple guava juice.
