The food tasted and looked good. The selection on the menu is a little to be desired of, however. I’m not wanting bread and sandwiches and I don’t want yet other non exciting run or the mill salad. In solution to the last salad could easily be made by looking into French cuisine.
It was disappointing to see that a square meal wasn’t really an option. What do I mean by that? Simple, meat and two veg. Or a solid vegetarian hot meal which reinvigorates diner.
So, how could this menu have a home-cooked meal option? Easy, it means giving some power to the chef where they create the food and it isn’t delivered in its uniform taste and look solution, I understand why hotels and restaurants have gone towards this solution of uniform presentation. But there are ways which are better for this planet, ie, requires less processing and less packaging, where the chefs are also given a little poetic license and the power to create something special and unique. Control can be maintained through the taste of the pesto or the quality of the pasta or specifying a certain recipe for certain meals – let’s give chefs a little more power to their elbow! The ability to create and share a signature dish or two…
So my expectations were low…
But Josh and Connie (bartenders) took good care of me.
I had a buffalo chicken sandwich
and some local IPA,
then came back later in the evening for an old-fashioned.
Everything tasted top-notch, service was fast, prices were reasonable compared to other hotel restaurants I’ve seen.
Glad I stopped by.
Great IPA beer on tap, many cocktail choices as well.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. The hummus plate was a great appetizer. The chicken sandwich was good, and the Cobb salad was impressive both visually and in taste. Our party was super impressed for this hotel dining option! Pricey, but the convenience can’t be beat if you are in any of the hotels here!
