I love Biscuit Express and have been coming here for years. I’m happy for them and their continued growth and success, but damn. Their quality control has gone down the drain. My orders are continually wrong now, or just slapped together. I don’t understand how you cut a biscuit like this. They aren’t cheap and they aren’t fast… if they continue to be not good I’ll just make breakfast at home.

This place appeals to a lot of ppl as we waited in line for about 30 minutes to order. It just wasn’t our cup of tea. I ordered a sausage platter. My wife ordered a ham platter. My biscuit and sausage were good. My wife’s ham was very salty to the point neither of us could eat it. The gravy is made from a mix. The tots were flavorful, but not crispy or fresh. Needless to say, we will not return.

I heard about this place for years and never tried it until I was moved to third shift. This place is so mindblowingly consistent. I have only worked through about half the menu in roughly a dozen trips. Just the breakfast menu. The ladies inside are kind, and they are whipping up some amazing food. My favorite so far has been the bologna biscuit. As someone who is always looking for the best deal, this is a GIANT slice of good fried bologna and is a cheaper option.

Stop it! This is the best biscuit I’ve ever had.
I got a bacon, egg and cheese with extra cheese! The extra cheese really is the move!
I did not know what to expect, but this far exceeded my expectations. Add some strawberry jam on top – and it’s even more delicious!
The bacon is crispy, the biscuit is hot and buttery, eggs fluffy and melty cheese – you are in for a real treat!
I got a Coke Zero and it was also delicious! Crisp like you want in a soda!
Quick and friendly service too!

The Biscuit Express on Moores Mill has pretty good breakfast like home cooking. Their hamburgers are pretty good as well. However, I can’t give them more than a three-star rating as their service is about one star. You can have excellent food, but if it consistently takes 30 to 45 minutes to get your food (especially breakfast food that has short cook times), then it’s rarely worth the stop as it’s not like this is a sit-down restaurant. It is a drive-thru, so wait times of 5 to 10 minutes and no more than 15 minutes are more reasonable. Almost anytime I go here it is really backed up. So, maybe there are non-breakfast hour times that it’s not so bad. Not sure because I don’t eat breakfast generally except during normal breakfast hours, but within that time, I’ve been there at various times over the course of two or three hours or so (but almost always the same story). But because of this I usually only go here once every few months or so because I just don’t have the time to sit around for 30 to 45 minutes in the car line or standing outside of their window. If you could actually call ahead and they would actually answer the phones, then maybe it would be more reasonable to call ahead and then just plan to be there 45 minutes after you put your order in. Often times when I am finally able to get them to answer the phone after many many many many many attempts with breaks in between (and often never get hold of them), they will often tell me it’s a 20 to 25 minute wait, and then I get there at that time and still have to wait another 15 minutes or more. So, you don’t really know when to show up. So, you either show up on time and typically you will wait a good bit still, or you show up after 45 minutes to an hour and risk the food getting cold. It’s a shame because they do have good food. But I’m honestly not sure how they stay so busy because I regularly see many other people that have waited for a long time as well when I’m there. But maybe some people aren’t as busy and have time to wait, not sure. The owner always has some excuse as I’m sure will be the case in reply to this review, but excuses are usually only good for one-off experiences, not good for explaining consistent problems over long periods of time that should be addressed via good management. But really there’s no excuse because I don’t know of any other quality breakfast places in town that I’ve had a similar experience. Most places seem to either staff better, answer the phone’s better, or give better time estimates. Anyways, up to you if you want to risk the long wait times if you think it’s worth it for the food. But I felt a three-star rating was fair because a good restaurant is just as much about the service as it is how good the food is. Oh and last but not least, they rarely get my order correct on the first try, especially if it’s more than one thing. Then they give some excuse about how they must not have heard me or something like that. And then of course that causes another 5 to 10 minute delay at least.

I ordered biscuits and gravy and this is how it comes? I didn’t ask for a build it kit. Might as well grab an apron and hop in the kitchen if you want your food prepared when you order.

I’ve been going to biscuit express for a long time. I work as a plumber in this town and we love it. I usually only go there on saturdays. My family came into town and I was like, hey, come check out this awesome breakfast place we have. I had everybody’s loving this place. So during the week comes and i’m like, hey, we got some extra family in town.Let’s go get some biscuit express. And for some reason, i’ve never had the worst experience that i’ve had today.. The biscuits were cold, the ham was dry and the cheese was not melted on the biscuits. I’m so sorry, biscuit is press. But i’m not gonna come there during the week.Anymore!!

Well, it pains me to write this, both as a LONG time Biscuit Express customer and as someone who rarely leaves these reviews. But at some point, someone needs to hear this and take it to heart. In this case, the food alone carries the 3-star rating, without the quality food it would be 2 stars.
Firstly, like I said I have been coming to Biscuit Express for many many years, it is by far my top choice for breakfast and for those that have never tried the burgers for lunch… you are seriously missing out! The food at Biscuit Express has largely remained the same good quality week after week, I have no real issues or complaints with the food quality. If I had to pick some negative here, I would say I miss when all the biscuits were lightly buttered, that small touch put them over the top!
So, what is the issue you may ask? Well, it’s simple and also so frustrating. The bright side, is this issue seems to be limited to the Moores Mill store only as I have never experienced this issue at the Meridianville store.
Get to the point! you say… Yes here it comes… The issue is the current state of the service and time spend waiting in line. Now, I realize that with growth comes more people and longer lines. That is not the issue in this case. No matter if there are 10 cars in line or 3, the service has become so painfully slow that often times I get stuck in line for over 20min at a time and end up being late for work. My longest wait was 38mins with 7 cars in line. That is over half an hour….
Something changed around the same time that the new owners took over. Now, im not slighting them for this, as it may be unrelated. However, month by month since that time it has gotten worse and worse. Im not sure if it’s a management issue, staffing issue, process issue or some system that is slowing orders down.
In years past even with the line wrapped around the building, they would sling biscuits out the window like the place was sinking and they were bailing water!! It was speedy!!! The line would move quickly, and we never got “stuck” sitting for what is now commonly 15 or more minutes…
Most of the staff is nice and a pleasure to interact with, however some of the recent new hires very clearly don’t want to be there. One young man refused to even speak to me at the window, would only nod his head, no reply to thank you or anything. There’s another older gentleman who, bless his heart, seems to have an issue hearing and understanding orders. Often times I and other folks in line (that I can hear out of my window) have to repeat our orders and at times they still are not correct. But again, he’s a friendly guy and I can live with that…
I ask this with all the sincerity in the world, please please please do something about this store’s service time. I know this is not a isolated issue as many of us talk about it in the parking while standing in the cold waiting on an order because the car line is at a standstill. If we can’t do any better, folks like me have no other choice than to go somewhere else and get substandard breakfast food… No one wants that!
I leave you with this… Lets get back to bailing water like the ship is sinking… otherwise, it just might.
Thanks for the top-quality food for so many years!!!

This is the best little biscuit place I’ve tried in a long time. The food was freshly made and the biscuits are so soft and fluffy. The service is great and there quick and also great price for what you get. This will always be a stop for me when I visit.

Believe the hype! The food is great and the employees are so nice! I got the bologna patter and it was so good. It’s not thin slices of bologna like on a sandwich, but thick cut slices and delicious! The tots are crispy and the eggs are real!! But that biscuit… that biscuit was perfect! Buttery but not greasy, soft on the inside but not crumbling apart. I’ve been dreaming about the biscuits since I had it and can’t wait to get back there for more. I’m tempted to order the same thing because it was so delicious, but also want to try more of the menu. The prices are higher than posted when ordering, but still, for just over $8 I had a big, delicious breakfast!
