I have been going to Birdhouse semi regularly for a year now and it has been a staple for my coffee needs. It is a walk up window, with 4-5 benches by the wall. It is a very popular place in the neighborhood. They have a large selection for seasonal drinks and also sell baked goods too. They have a big food menu as well. The coffee is fantastic, they prepare it with great care. The waiting times are not. I have waited around 25 minutes multiple times over the past year for a single order of coffee, which has diminished my experience here. They almost always have a huge queue of online orders, at peak morning hours. You’d like to factor that in if you’re walking up and ordering. We have tried the veggie burrito and salmon bagel but were left unimpressed for the taste and price. Although, the oatmeal was delicious. I hope they’d prioritize walk up orders in future.

Visiting from the East Coast and found this place when looking for good coffee other than Starbucks. The owner was kind and the food was great!! It’s a small business but they have something that truly stands out. There is outside seating. Not sure if there’s anything indoors. Grabbed an iced coffee and some breakfast sandwiches. The food and coffee was not weighted in artificial ingredients and you can taste the difference. Coffee…amazing! Food was great. Visit, visit, visit!!

Fabulous coffee shop! The food is great and they make an excellent cardamom latte. I’ve been going for a long time and big shift I’ve noticed this winter is prioritizing online orders over patrons who come to the window. There’s been a significant reduction of efficiency for people who order at the window and waiting 15 to 20 minutes for a coffee in the morning is totally absurd. And that’s a wait for coffee only. I have stopped ordering food in the morning altogether. I wouldn’t mention it if it only happened once, but it’s so consistent now, the loooong wait, that it’s changing my morning coffee stop. I hope it gets worked out and back to a balance for all as I absolutely love the spot!!

Service is great, coffee is great, dog friendliness rating is 10 out of 10. Food appears to be less of a priority nowadays. Recently ordered an egg sandwich that had obviously been microwaved and was the consistency of a hockey puck. Would love to see the indoor part re-open, will still always go for wonderful coffee.

First visit here. Parking near. Nice sized menu. Cashier was very sweet. The food was so so good and refreshing. The salmon sandwich was chefs kiss! Fresh and tasty fish. My wife got the rancher and she said it was amazing. My strawberry kiwi slushie was really sweet so I let it water down a bit. But it was still really good. Definitely recommend and will return.

Addicted. I spend too much money coming here all the time already! A simple Mocha latte with oat milk & Vita coffee is great. My partner loves the Mama’s Blat sandwich.

First time here and the service, as well as the coffee were great! The cashier was super helpful. Even without added sweetness, the latte was solid. Smooth, no bitterness to it.
The food however, is just not it. For me. I got a breakfast sandwich with everythung bagel, sausage, eggs, avocado and sonic aoili. I’m glad i added the aoili because overall the sandwich was mad BLAND. I’m not sure how they make the eggs but they were looked exactly like eggs you pour from the box. They had that powdered taste and holey look to them unfortunately. If I ever go back, I’ll try the lunch sandwiches instead because for almost $16, the breakfast sandwiches are a hard pass.

Best roadside hole-in-the wall breakfast place I’ve been too. Portion sizes are large! Definitely get your bang for the buck. Servers are extremely nice. Will go again.

Birdhouse is a west seattle neighborhood staple! Plenty of street parking plus an easy walk up window makes for a perfect grab and go breakfast joint. Their food is delicious, solid portions, and very customizable. My only complaint is that their coffee is very hit or miss – can taste very burnt. Pro tip: call in your order on busy weekends!
