This one has been on my bucket list for a hot minute! I love the history of the Carlyle Hotel and of course Robin Williams was here for the filming of the movie The Birdcage! The colorful sherbet colored café was absolutely amazing had so many photo ops in it. The service was amazing. The food was good. I have zero complaints and I will definitely be making a trip back here again.

There are a lot of restaurants on Ocean Dr. to choose from but if you’re looking for a great service with a good menu and delicious drinks, you’ve found it. The nice thing about this location is it’s the site of the famous Birdcage movie. There is also an ice cream shop attached to the restaurant. The seating outside is nice and gives you a nice view for people watching.

My family and I had brunch here during my Miami visit. The service was great, and the staff was very attentive. I ordered the Cuban chicken with plantains, a chicken sandwich, and a burger. I especially loved the plantains on the Cuban plate. The beachfront location adds to the nice vibe of the place.

You won’t be disappointed by stopping to enjoy drinks, food, excellent service at The Birdcage Cafe. During a 4 night stay on Ocean Drive recently, myself and 2 adult daughters had the privilege to enjoy the excellent customer service of table waiter, Usiel, an absolutely delightful, hard working young man, who kept our drinks filled, plates of delicious food coming and brought us smiles and laughter. Usiel is a gem, excellent employee and hope his supervisor recognizes this huge asset on his team. We enjoyed eating outdoors and the recessed patio several times. Never disappointed. The Carlyle hotel is the scene of the hysterical movie comedy, “The Birdcage”, starring Robin Williams, Nathan Lane and Gene Hackman. A classic favorite of mine.
The trip to Miami was a dream come true, especially to spend time in the Art Deco District and dining at the Carlyle. I hope you enjoy time at The Birdcage Cafe and get to meet dear Usiel.
