Had our first visit following the Seinfeld show and what a perfect way to end a wonderful evening! Can’t believe we waited so long to have a meal here! The chicken pot pie is the best ever! Loaded with fresh vegetables and chicken. Just perfect! The beef ragu was also amazing! Everything was perfect on a very busy evening! Will definitely be back!

Service was very kind and quick. Kind of different vibe. Food was okay. Seems like an older spot? Myself and maybe 10-12 older individuals but easy going feel. Person who waited on me was very nice and bartender was very friendly. Prices seemed maybe a little high? Right in the heart of Buffalo tho so could also be why. No real issues at all just kind of the norm.

Buttermilk chicken sandwich was outstanding! The breading was light and full of flavor. The slaw was tasty and provided a nice crunch. Honey mayo added an extra layer of flavor that was finger licking good. The best part, it wasn’t at all messy to eat. Everything stayed on the bun and made it that more enjoyable to eat. Will definitely be back to have it again!

Quick and fast service. The roasted Brussels sprouts were delicious. If you’re attending a show at Shea’s it’s right across the street.

Went got dinner. My daughter had her drink served to her with a fruit fly in it. I ordered the salmon with risotto. I was served salmon with wild rice. When I asked about it I was told it was a “type-o”in the menu. I never would’ve ordered this as I dislike wild rice. No effort was made to rectify & nothing taken off the bill. This was my first & last time ever eating here. Very over priced & disappointing.

The Bijou is an ideal place to stop for fabulous cocktails and a bite to eat before seeing a show in the theater district of Buffalo! It’s only a two minute walk from Sheas. I’ve dined here many times in the past few decades. It’s so nice to see they are still thriving after all these years in business! I really enjoyed being at their bar this visit waiting for our show to start. The bartender was fun and attentive. He made great cosmos! The patrons were engaging, too! It was a great kick-off to a fabulous night at the theater!

The salad was tasty but tiny for $15. (And no meat). The steak was tasty but again very small (6oz) . The fries were WAY too salty and the veggies were terrible. Roasted swiss chard or kale? We couldn’t tell cause it was tasteless, dry and brittle. Our waiter was nice but left our salad sitting on the counter for 10 min before a waitress pointed it out to him. We had a strong feeling it was our salad and almost went and picked it up ourselves. Doubt we’ll go back.

I’ve been pretty conflicted about writing this review as I generally do not like to leave negative reviews nor do I like to be critical of small businesses unless they really harm others. My wife and I had dinner at The Bijou on Friday 12/12 during a weekend trip to Buffalo from out of state. First, the positives. The hostess and the server were both wonderful. Very friendly and attentive. I ordered two non-alcoholic mocktails that were both well-made and delicious and the bar staff accommodated my wife’s request for a cocktail that was not on the menu. The small plates that we ordered and shared were very good as well, the olives were flavorful and came with some great chewy bread. The issue that I had was with my entree. I ordered the Piccata alla Greco, basically chicken picatta. At first it was fine but after a little bit, even in the low light, I noticed that it appeared undercooked, it was quite pink. At that point I had eaten probably 3/4 of it and shrugged it off, as I’m not too picky nor do I like to make a fuss and complain. It’s just not my style. I’ve never had food poisoning in my life so I genuinely didn’t think much past it aside from the noticing that it was pink and undercooked.
Well, I ended up getting very, very sick about 7 hours later. I was up all night ill and had to stay in my hotel room for the vast majority of the next day, Saturday, greatly impacting my plans in town that I’d driven 6.5 hours to do. I’m writing this on Monday evening, still ill and feeling the impact of the food unfortunately. I hadn’t eaten anything else (I’d been traveling all day Friday) and the other menu items were shared, leaving my to believe that the culprit had to be the chicken piccata, there could be no other way. Again, I’m hesitant to post this but I’ve been quite bothered by this and very disappointed. Still, there are positives to The Bijou, such as its location and proximity to theaters in Buffalo. Thank you.
