2nd time here and finally went for Fish Fry. The atmosphere at The Dipper is one you’d expect of a Northwoods bar. Beer is plentiful, and the fish fry was amazing. Had to get there before the trails open up and it’s slam packed. Great service from the owners and will definitely be back!

This place is so good! Food was amazing! The service was very good! We had a big group and they were at our tables anytime they saw someone needed a refill. We never waited long for anything. The pizza, burgers, and fries were top notch! Highly recommend.

Stopped for quick lunch. Great burger with bacon and so many homemade chips I couldn’t eat them all. Perfect bloody mary. Great, attentive service from the bartender. Can’t wait to go back and try the fish fry! Thanks!

The Big Dipper is a lovely family establishment. You’ll find generous portions of cheese curds or their famously wonderful chips. They feature live music so I’d recommend checking their Facebook for event schedule. Worth a trip and snowmobile friendly!

I’ve been a part of this area for the last 25 years and have seen the old Northeraire bar become the new Big Dipper. I haven’t been here since it opened until this past 4th of July weekend and of course it was packed. We stopped in to get a beer and pizza to go. It looks and feels like it should: a north woods bar/restaurant. Brooke was the bartender and you could really tell the entire staff from the bar backs and servers to the cook where working hard. They all did an excellent job. A few beers later we left with would be the best pizza I have had anywhere in WI in a long time! Thick cheese and the toppings were more than ample. The crust had a great taste to it and the large was enough for 3 of us x 2 days. Definitely a go to for pizza again.

We came here for an early dinner on Friday night. We saw how busy it was the night before so we came at 4pm. The woman who was the host and server was kind and friendly and absolutely killing it managing a busy place with ease. She was efficient and amazing at her job. We ordered the fish fry and pizzas for our group of 9. The wait was not too long and even if it has been, it would have been worth it. The fish and pizzas were incredible. We would absolutely come again. We had three young children with us and felt welcome even though it’s a bar. Didn’t take any photos because we were too busy diving into our delicious dinners.

Just moved up here and decided to give the big Dipper a try… fantastic decision. I think my server’s name was Brooke, and she was incredible. She was so kind, and had an extensive knowledge of the menu, which was so helpful when ordering. I got the Big Dipper Cheeseburger, which is a build your own burger, and it was incredible. It was barely smaller than the size of my entire hand! And their fries, which were ordered with the burger for only, like, 11 dollars, should have been advertised as a family platter, not a side. The whole plate was overflowing with fries, and they were just as the waitress had described, shoestring perfection. There was also live music, and the singer was FANTASTIC. She had written many of her own songs, along with covers she played, and had such a beautifully dramatic voice, and her skills in the ukelele are out of this world! I will be coming back again!
