⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review for The Big Catch – St. Pete

If you’re traveling through St. Pete with Harvest Hosts, The Big Catch is an absolute must-stop.

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was next level. The nicest people you’ll meet anywhere — genuinely welcoming, accommodating, and grateful you’re there. We even had the opportunity to meet the owner, which made the experience even more personal. That kind of hands-on presence says everything about the pride they take in their business.

The food? Outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you’re dining near the water. Everything was prepared perfectly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and authentic — no pretense, just great seafood and great people.

For Harvest Hosts travelers, this is a perfect location. Easy access, comfortable setup, and a dining experience that makes you want to extend your stay.

Highly recommend. We will absolutely be back.

My Harvest Host stay at The Big Catch at Salt Creek was a fantastic experience, perfectly blending coastal hospitality with outstanding food. Being able to park on-site and then walk straight into such a well-loved local restaurant made this stop especially convenient and memorable.

I started with the Seafood Chowder, a rich and comforting cream-based chowder loaded with tender fish, shrimp, sweet corn, potatoes, and just the right blend of spices. Thick, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, it tasted like the Gulf Coast in a bowl. For my entrée, I chose The Big Easy, and it absolutely delivered—bold flavors, expertly prepared seafood, and that unmistakable Louisiana-inspired flair that makes every bite exciting.

The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, the service friendly and attentive, and the setting along Salt Creek added to the overall charm. Whether you’re arriving by RV, boat, or car, The Big Catch at Salt Creek is a must-visit for anyone looking for excellent seafood in St. Petersburg. It’s the perfect stop to enjoy fresh Gulf flavors while traveling Florida’s beautiful west coast.

The more you go to Big Catch, the better it is. The bar isn’t huge so you will get to know the bartenders, some of the servers and some of the regulars. Some dogs are also regulars. The view from the rail seats in the bar are great. You can watch the tide come in and out of Salt Creek, pelicans and herons, and boats launching from the Harborage’s boat building. Overall a relaxed and chill time.

I’m not a huge seafood person but the meals here were delicious! This place is as Florida as you can get lol. Right on the water, beautiful views, nice breeze, and wonderful atmosphere. It’s great for a casual date or meeting up with some friends. The tacos are I got the snapper on top of the risotto cake. It was strange but yummy. The grouper cheeks were my favorite.

I just want to start off with how this place is a hidden GEM!
I work for The No Name Saloon in Pinellas Park and I was fortunate enough to meet BEN. He told me about the place. He bartends here!
So, I joined in on the MUSIC BINGO on Monday nights 7pm to 9pm.
What a blast that was! They give out gift cards to 3 winners! Big money gift cards!
Drinks were amazing.

I love this place! It’s right on the water, and a little bit away from downtown so it easy to get a parking spot. My server was so wonderful and attentive. We got the calamari, peel and eat shrimp, and the grouper cheeks and it came out fast and tasted SO GOOD.

This place absolutely blew me away! From the moment we sat down by the water, I knew we were in for something special. The menu is packed with unique and interesting dishes, and the flavors? Impeccable.

I had the Snapper with Cajun Crawfish Sauce — and let me tell you, it was to die for. I even joked with the waitress, “Whoa whoa whoa… I haven’t licked my plate clean yet!” That’s how good it was.

The smoked fish spread was another standout — flavorful and perfectly balanced. I didn’t get a chance to try the mahi tacos this time around, but I’ve heard they’re a fan favorite, and now I believe it.

The signature drinks were top-notch, the atmosphere was chill and inviting, and the staff made the whole experience feel like something out of a vacation magazine.

I seriously cannot wait to come back and bring the whole family next time. Y’all ROCK — keep up the amazing work!
10/10 would recommend!

The Big Catch at Salt Creek is a great restaurant for a festive and fun meal. Strategically located on the water in St Petersburg it offers a great view.

The Staff is incredible, both courteous and attentive. There was ample free parking in and around the restaurant. The Big Catch at Salt Creek is a bit deceiving from the curb where it looks like a small restaurant, when in fact it’s large and extends to the water. This restaurant is great for anyone, whether you are dining out alone or with a large group. There’s an added bonus with live music.

As for food, I would definitely recommend the fish tacos with it large portions. As for dessert ,I would suggest the Banana Foster’s dish.
