Soft Opening Win for The Big Biscuit!
We checked them out on their first open Sunday, and had a great experience overall. We arrived around 9:40am and put our party of 3 on the waitlist. We received a text estimating a 30–40 minute wait, but because they’re still in soft opening mode and only had about half of the tables open, our actual wait was closer to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
That said, we fully expected a longer wait. Trying brand-new spots in their first few weeks always comes with a little patience, and we were happy to support a new restaurant getting its footing.
And let me tell you… the food was absolutely worth it.
We ordered a scramble bowl, eggs Benedict, and the Southern Sunrise French toast. Every single dish was delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done.
We love supporting new-to-us spots, and The Big Biscuit is definitely one we’ll be back to once they’re fully up and running. If you go during the soft opening phase, just plan for a wait, but come hungry, because the food delivers.
Highly recommend adding this one to your breakfast/brunch list!

We ordered the brunch burger (my husband had this) & the country fried chicken breakfast plate. I enjoyed my food, my husband wasn’t a fan of the burger itself but said the fries were great! He said the burger didn’t have a flavor profile, and was on the bland side. He also didn’t like their gravy, but I enjoyed it! Our service was amazing. No wait for a table. When we left there was a line around 9:30am, so get there early if you can if you don’t want to wait too long!

My wife and I met some friends there for breakfast. We planned to meet at 9 and got there at 8:30 but didn’t get a table till after 9. We expected a wait but it was long. The server was polite and professional and the food was good. I had biscuits and sausage gravy and pancakes.

Heart attack on plates pictures look great but damn overpriced coffee slow wait staff, some servers were flying around. I would kind of wish we had them, but we had a slow girl that didn’t seem like she was all there 30 minute wait to get a table and seem too bad. The drink list is not priced which it probably should be lotta unhealthy options of fried chicken and waffles. We tried it. We won’t be back too many options in Wichita to try otherwise.

First time here but it won’t be the last. Friendliest service ever, ask for Tiffini, you won’t be disappointed. Great food, huge portions, lots of options. Come hungry! The oatmeal is delicious and the fruit is fresh!

So that was an awful experience, they were running ragged in that place, servers were stressed, they could not handle the work load. We waited an hour for a to-go order (there was another gal waiting for an hour on her to-go order) & online it said 10-15 minutes, no manager coming out to apologize for the wait, or give you any kind of compensation. To-go servers were not attentive at all. We had to ask multiple times. We came on December 27, their grand opening was on the 17th…let’s get it together, it’s been 10 days, today is day 11.
First off, I’ve been to The Big Biscuit in Lawrence, KS many times!! No concerns. If you can’t handle the holidays and opening week at the same time, The Big Biscuit needs to hire extra help during opening week and train servers better.
The to-go orders looked thrown together and over cooked, cold when picked up, it’s awful. Look at these photos. The corned beef hash, I could hardly tell the difference between the hash and the hash browns.
Not impressed. There are A LOT BETTER restaurants in Wichita that have REALLY GOOD QUALITY food and can handle a Saturday morning at 11am.

Finally made it to the big biscuit strategically placed across from planet fitness and it did not disappoint. Despite a small hiccup in the check in procedure (somehow got kicked off the list, it was busy, who knows) the service I received from Ella was by far one of the best I’ve had in a long while. The food arrived quickly and was hot, fresh and plentiful despite the full house and busy staff. If your up for a breakfast that will change your life, might I reccomend the 3 car pile up, but be warned, wear your fat pants!!!! This is going in my book for reccomended west wichita breakfast spots.

I didn’t feel like the wait times were that bad. We ordered lunch food. The patty melt was very dry, the burger under seasoned. Barely any onions. The manager was kind and gave us a $10 gift card and took our feedback well. The service was just,”ok.” Village Inn has far better food.
