Wood-smoked meats, hearty sides & classic desserts are the draws to this casual barbecue haunt.

I have visited this establishment many times but tonight will be the last. After work, I stopped to pick up dinner. I ordered a plate of ribs and brisket, a potato and a pound of brisket, $60+ in all. When I got home i found a pound of the worst meat I have ever seen. It looked to be just the discarded pieces. They should be ashamed for charging me $24 and sending me home with a pound of scraps! Enjoy my money because it will be the last. And rest assured I’ll make sure to pass my experience along to others.

Very friendly service and we received our food pretty quickly. I got the brisket plate, the brisket was a little dry but I enjoyed the sauces provided. Well seasoned green beans and the sweet potato casserole was delicious! The pulled pork was a bit more moist than that brisket. The fries came out hot, fresh, and seasoned. The sweet tea and kool-aid were perfectly sweetened.

⭐️ Honest Review of Big Bib BBQ (Different Location – San Antonio)
I drove an hour to this Big Bib BBQ location because I’d seen their food all over Facebook and Instagram and wanted to finally try it. I wasn’t planning to dine in—just pick up an order and head back home. I had my three-month-old puppy in my arms, not on the floor, not touching anything. I was simply waiting to order, same as anyone else.
I even let other customers go ahead of me. If my puppy was an issue, they should’ve told me the moment I walked in, not when I finally got up to the counter. The cashier asked, “Is that a toy?”—even though everyone in the place could clearly see she was real and people were loving on her. Then she told me they’re “not dog-friendly,” but the way she said it was unnecessary and unprofessional. At that point, I should’ve taken it as a sign and walked out.
But I still ordered, and honestly, I regret it.
The Food & Portions:
• I ordered rib tips with green beans and sweet potato soufflé.
They gave me half a scoop of soufflé—barely enough for a baby.
• My rib tips portion looked like a handful, not a meal.
• My daughter’s brisket was also very little—way less than what I saw on plates being served to dine-in customers.
• When I asked about sides, the cashier only mentioned a few (green beans, etc.) and didn’t tell me about collard greens, chili, or other options. She totally overlooked them.
Meanwhile, the plates I saw people eating inside looked much fuller and neatly put together. So I’m not sure if the “to-go” orders get treated differently, but it definitely felt that way.
And for all of that, I ended up paying $39 for scraps. Completely unacceptable.
After the attitude about my puppy and the tiny portions, I can confidently say:
I wouldn’t drive back over here again.
Customer service matters. If you have a policy, say it politely and say it immediately—not after someone has been waiting in line. And don’t serve tiny portions on top of it. I gave them a chance, but this location won’t get a second one.

In and out of San Antonio from time to time. The Big BiB BBQ has been on my radar to visit for a minute, finally got the opportunity. Picked up some posts from YouTube and the buzz. Keep sharing that content . I’ve been Blessed to have experienced and sampled BBQ all across the US. The Big Bib on a scale of 5, 3.5 -4. I sampled several meats, of course brisket, ribs, pulled pork. Meats are well prepared, my opinion, a little more smoke and seasoning would push them closer to 5. Spicy sauce was my favorite and the sides were sides although, I didn’t sample everything. Staff was very friendly. They are moderately priced. I would recommend, I will be back. Gotta try those wings. Stop through try for yourself. I think you’ll find something to enjoy

I personally wouldn’t go here again only for the brisket.
The taste was bland at best unless you had some rendered fat in the same bite.
The pinto beans taste like canned ranch style beans.
I have to say bring your own lemon because you’ll enjoy the catfish fillet. Crispy on the outside flake on the inside served hot .
Now, for the best part, the potato casserole is to die for. Something about it ….it makes you feel happy from the inside out, lol.
Goodness
Thank you to everyone here, very kind & polite

Came for a visit while in town. The service was great. Dined in and ordered 2 chicken meals, 1 catfish meal & 1 meal that included ribs & brisket. All of the meat was pretty much dried out (well, on a lot of parts) and tasteless. Greatly lacked seasoning. Everything, except the catfish, but including all of the sides were almost cold. Although the catfish was fried fresh, it literally only had the flavor of basic cornmeal, absolutely ZERO seasoning. The sweet potato casserole was good as was the blackberry cobbler. The koolaid will send a diabetic into a sugar coma.
Just about $100 for 4 meals, plus 4 cobbler, you’d expect to be served with classic dinnerware. Instead we were served on foam plates & plastic utensils. Very tacky & simply unimpressive.

Friendly mom and pop shop with excellent BBQ! Walked in and ordered the two meats plate. I asked for green beans and baked potato casserole. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The brisket was tender and moist and had a good smoke flavor. The turkey was not dry and also had a smoky flavor. Sides were very good also. My plate also came with 2 slices of bread, sliced pickles, and onions. On my table were 4 different types of BBQ sauce. Inside the decor was of a typical BBQ place. I very much enjoyed my meal here and will be back for more.

Tried their BBQ for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it!!! I had the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. All was tender with the best flavor! Also a plus is that all of their meats and most of their sides are naturally gluten free so if you have a gluten allergy this is also a great place for you! I am highly sensitive and was perfectly fine after eating my meal! Prices were also very affordable!
