I have been craving egusi and fufu for weeks! I didn’t want to drive out of town to get any, so I googled places in Lancaster and this gem of a place pops up. I decided to visit today, and I was highly impressed! I walked in and a lovely lady welcomed me. She was the owner. There was also a gentleman behind the counter and he was very friendly as well. Although they did not have any egusi, they had other stews that smelled divine. I mean as soon as you walked in there was music playing and the smell of the food was out of this world! It felt so welcoming! It’s also very clean and tidy in this establishment. I couldn’t make a decision on what I wanted, so I ended up getting a small chicken curry, a large cabbage, a small pork stew, and some fufu to eat with the stews. The first bite I was like, “oh my goodness!” It was delicious! The pork stew had a hint of sweetness but it was excellent! The chicken curry, 10/10! The cabbage is a must try! While I was sitting at the table, the sweet owner brought over some complimentary meat pies. Holy smokes!!! They were so delicious! I am so happy I stumbled upon this amazing place. I think the only downside is the portions are kind of small. I paid almost 60 dollars for 2 small stews, 1 large cabbage, 1 large beef stew, 2 cans of soda, 1 water, a small white rice, and another small cabbage. (My sister joined me for lunch) I would still return here multiple times over because the owner was amazing and the food was delightful!!

This was our first time trying African food, absolutely delicious! My boyfriend got the beef stew with rice, and I got the chicken curry with Ugali. Everything was super flavorful!! The owners were also kind enough to give us a couple of samosas on the house. They were very nice and informative. We will definitely be back, next time we visit! Also prices were very fair.

Delicious food, friendly service, cute atmosphere inside. It was a little pricey, but definitely very good. The chicken curry was flavorful, and the cabbage salad was outstanding! And they gave us a complimentary samosa, which was nice. Great place and we’d go back.

Nice home cooked restaurant! The food was so good! My two youngest and I loved the fufu with the curry chicken. While my husband had the beef stew, beans and chicpati. My oldest gobbled up the chicken and rice. The meat was so tender and the flavors were spot on! Wish we were locals so we could go back often!

Delicious home style Kenyan food. Order over the counter food is hot and fresh. Goat curry, rice and spinach was very flavorful! Service was great too! Be aware that the food is on the pricier side. The goat, spinach, and rice shown totaled $27.00. Not terrible but comparing to similar restaurants with over the counter style ordering and similar cuisine it should be below $20.00. Recommend giving it a try!

The food was delicious. We had the beef stew, Kuku Choma (chicken), black-eyed peas and rice. We also had a samosa and Kenyan kebab. The samosa had a slight kick to it with a lot of flavor.

Just one Samosa and some chicken stew for $22 after delivery fee and Tip is ridiculous and then when I called and asked why there is no rice to come with it. They said no everything is individual. I had eaten here in person before and had never had a problem but now I don’t know what’s going on with their pricing. This is crazy

I watch a lot of YouTube & the trend at the time was trying African food. So I went on Google and searched for the closet restaurant near me that serves African food. I found The Big 5 African Cuisine, it was about a 30 minute drive, so we get there and bought one of everything! The owners/emplowere very nice and welcoming. Now for the food, it was very good and very flavorful, I would definitely be making another trip to The Big 5!

New favorite lunch spot in Lancaster! The staff is over the top friendly and I learned a lot about African food during our conversation. For the price their portion sizes are out of this world. And lastly the food is ridiculously good! Each bite of food is perfectly flavorful and full of delicious ingredients and spices. This is the type of food I would go far out of my way to get. Highly recommend trying the samosa’s.
