So I’m not personally crazy about the style of coffee in the keys, but the iced coffee here was one of the better ones I had. What I went back for the second day in a row were the chicken empanadas. They were THE BEST empanadas I’ve ever had. Rent a bike (or drive) and head up to this spot a little ways of the main tourist path. It’s a walk up window only with just a few stools outside, but grab your food and find a shady bench nearby.

This place opens at four in the morning. If you have an early morning this is a great place to start the day. The sandwiches are really good and the coffee is hot, really hot. Give yourself some time to let it cool or you will scald your mouth.

You can’t judge the atmosphere because it’s perfect for what it is, the service is great and the food is simple. Without a doubt. Doubt the best empanadas on Key West! We came over to do laundry while on vacation and ordered coffee and a pastry while we waited. Felix asked how sweet I wanted my coffee and I said 3. He then asked if I was getting a pastry and I said yes. He said I didn’t want that much sugar then and he would fix my coffee the way it should be. He was correct! The coffee and pastry were wonderful. I wish I discovered this place our first day here. We will be back every morning from here on out.
