Our 2nd time here in a month. This could be a gold mine of they cared about locals. It’s a beautiful bar/restaurant indoor outdoor space. But the staff isn’t friendly, say NO too much, don’t ask how you are doing (ok other than Roger). The bar is limited. They could pack happy hour if they thought about a small plate and drink program locals would love.

This may have been the worst restaurant in Berkeley. Maybe in California. I would give this restaurant zero stars if possible. Hostess made a sexual joke to me as I was checking in with my girlfriend which should have been an immediate red flag for us to leave. We decided to give them a second chance which may have been the worst decision possible. We ordered the clam chowder for an appetizer which looked like someone threw some dish soap in the soup to make it more fluffy and tasted like it was made last week. The waiter also did not understand when we asked for a side of fries for our entree he decided to bring it out with our clam chowder. On top of that when I tried to be polite to ask him to bring it out with our entree he decided to leave it there for the rest of dinner. Nothing more appetizing than looking at a plate of cold fries all dinner. Then came the entrees….. the chicken was at least cooked but I think they decided seasoning was optional. The Cod could definitely have been purchased from your local Trader Joe’s frozen aisle. Safe to say we will not be coming back and I would encourage everyone to go anywhere else. Not to mention the price for each entree was 40 dollars bringing our total dinner price to a $180 dollars.

2/13/26 This place is for the hotel guest and I say that because the atmosphere is dead and dry just like the service and the food, I’m not sure who the chef is but he should be fried as well as the waiter the sunrise watermelon drink was good I had Hennessy with mines which ended up being $42 for two my husband had the fish and chips which was out the freezer the batter didn’t even stick to the fish nothing had flavor I ordered Mary’s chicken breast and got a quarter leg that was light skinned even after being cooked what was supposed to be risotto was rice and spaghetti sauce. The waiter left and no one came to our table able for about 15 mins . This is not a date night place at all and for our total to be $135 it was a waste of money we let and we to The StudyHall which was way better the food service and atmosphere was way better . DONT EAT HERE IT HORRIBLE…..

Dined here while staying at the adjoining hotel. The location and ambiance are spectacular. Great view of the marina from any table in the restaurant, as well as a large outdoor patio. They also have a nice bar area that would be great for socializing.
A strange thing happened with our server, who had a spell of dizziness and lost her balance. She said she thought it was because she’s diabetic and had eaten candy. She seemed a little dazed for the whole service.
The food was excellent. We had asked for the driver scallops on the side, with the fettuccini Alfredo. We were surprised by the serving size of this pasta dish. The flatbread was nice but probably unremarkable. And the beet salad was excellent.

The Berkeley Boathouse is one of the Bay Areas hidden gems. Beautiful atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Customer service was a 10 out of 10. Short wait time for seating. Everything we ordered, including the drinks, came out in a timely manner and tasted great.

Good restaurant connected to the Double Tree Hotel. The service was awesome, the decor felt a little worn down. Overall not a bad experience.

When you stay at the Iconic DoubleTree by Hilton Berkeley Marina, you’ll be on the waterfront enyoing stunning views of the San Francisco skyline while dining at The Berkeley Boathouse Restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, coctels and dinner is served in a lovely ambience, the blue chiminea inside and the right choice of music. The food is taste, exotic and there’s a great variaty. Service is excelente, and very friendly happy people work there.
Also is amazing to see the sun setting on the Golden Gate, just steps away from the Cesar Chavez Park where you can take peacefull walks, and actually come across a habitat for The Western Burrowing Owls, one of the most endearing and beloved of bird species.

The food was good. We had the Caesar salad, flatbread pizza, and chicken sandwich w/ fries. And dessert was the chocolate cake and cheesecake (got it to go and the chocolate cake was delicious!) Everything was good, but the fries were really good. Not too salty or soggy, and were nice and hot!
We did feel a bit forgotten after we were seated, but one of the managers (Sorry. Forgot her name, but she was African American). She noticed I was looking around, probably with a quizzical look on my face, so she came to our table and took our order and apologized for the delay… Thank you for taking care of us! Also, the interior of the restaurant was nice and modern. I would dine here again.

What a lovely hidden gem! We are Berkeley locals and brought our 5 and 8 yo boys for a special holiday meal. We had a delicious feast in the mostly lovely setting (it was upscale but not unwelcoming to families) and teriffic service. 10/10
