A wonderful lunch. It was full when we arrived but we’re quickly given a freshly cleaned booth and we’re told our server would be with us shortly. Michael arrived a few minutes later, giving us time to decide on drinks and appetizers. He was really one of the best servers we’ve ever had and the only one in a full room! I had the Reuben with sweet potato fries and hubby enjoyed the smothered chicken sandwich (with plenty of ketchup on his fries). We will definitely return again and again!

My ratings are based on local options. A trip to Cookeville or Knoxville would drop everything by one star. Typically the service is very good and the food is fair. Their breaded shrimp is the best in town. Their rice is always dried out. Their soups and salads are good. Their chicken teriyaki bowl is also a reason to return.

We were excited to try a local place when visiting the area but unfortunately this one missed the mark. Options were good and the service was good. The food fell way short …tough and chewy ribeye steak. The prime rib was cool not warm. The salad was not fresh it was from a bag. The bread and our potatoes were good though.

Our waitress had the cutest accent when talking with us. We’re from the north and is always fun to hear that twang.
Our meals were prime rib and 1/2 rack of ribs with salad and red skinned potatoes as our 2 sides. They were both excellent. The ribs were tender enough where they fell off the bone and could be cut with a fork!
It was a pleasant dining experience for a Thursday evening.

I wouldn’t give this 5 stars, but I would give more than 4 if I could. Ellie, our waitress, was excellent. Smoky old fashioned was an “11”! Shrimp the best we have had inland *having moved from the Gulf). Ribs were huge portion at a half a rack and delectable. Soup was okay.

Love it, love it.. Great food, good prices. It is about 1/2 way between our house and our daughter who lives in Nashville, perfect for our family meet up and a meal food is tasty, service is great. Sometimes parking gets tricky, they share the lot with an Irish Pub so it can be crowded.

I was thrilled that Beef & Barrel was open on Mondays because I was craving a good “date night” meal. This was my first time, but I’d read the reviews and was excited. It was awesome! From my Cosmo drink, my wedge salad with lots of chucks of blue cheese, the perfectly spiced crunchy fries and tasty broccoli (that I snuck off my husband’s plate), my yummy prime rib, and the incredible chocolate cake afterwards, I was one happy girl. Great service, and the place has a nice homey feel. Definitely coming back to try more of their dishes. Good prices too!

Allison was on point ! Fantastic at her job
The prime rib was a little overcooked but it was very flavorful no honest complaints as it’s hard to make a medium rare prime rib .
Potato skins was great
Dessert was uhhh unbelievable.
We were on a road trip coming back from Nashville heading to Knoxville and stopped in for and early dinner . We will absolutely be goin back

Early Bird Specials from 3pm-5pm. Let me tell you that is a deal you shouldn’t pass up! My grilled shrimp was only $12.95 and included a salad or soup, a side, ice cream and a tea. It was perfectly cooked and literally melted in my mouth it was so delicious. My husband had the prime rib. He said it was the best meal he’d had in the area. Doneile was our server and was the sweetest and very attentive. Just a great experience all the way around.

Best place in town!
The food and service was outstanding. I had the Prime Rib, medium rare, with Beef Au Jus, and the loaded baked potato. In our party, we also had the Alaskan Salmon and the Flat Iron Steak.
We recommend each of these.
