Service was great. Food was just ok. Definitely not the worst but could be much better. Sides seemed like they were straight heated up out of a can. Seemed like the air conditioner doesn’t work well. Will I come back? Probably not. Will I complain about the food? No.

Just had lunch here with my two girls and they absolutely loved it. I of course enjoyed the food as well , my youngest even ended up eating my ribs when I went to the restroom . Highly recommend.

Really good BBQ. The prices are reasonable, considering what you get. I got the baby back ribs (1/2 rack), potato salad, beans, slaw, and garlic bread, for $24.

Had not been here in many years as the food was disappointing the last time I was there. A friend liked barbecue, so we arrived late afternoon. It was quite pricey. As shown in the photos the chicken was very old, dry and over cooked. The wing was pitiful. I asked my friend what he thought about the beans and potato salad he remarked that they were poor and the beans were loaded with barbecue sauce rather than the typical cooked and flavorful sauce.

Review for March 2nd 2022. The Bear Pit Barbecue Restaurant is located in the heart of the Mission Hills California. It’s in the Los Angeles County within the San Fernando Valley. Adjacent to the 118 freeway and Sepulveda Boulevard. Let me start off by saying that I absolutely appreciate the customer service. It goes without saying that the barbecue ribs here are absolutely to die for. I’m not guilty, to say that I love BBQ ribs. Thank you so much for the attention to service that you guys provide and all the great quality food that you have. Also perfect spot for a coffee with your lunch.

Thoroughly disappointed with the food. Had it delivered via GrubHub. The meat and sides are flavorless. I’m extremely confused why this place has such great reviews. My wife and I lived in Tennessee before moving out here so maybe we have high standards for BBQ but this just seems very sub par.
