My boyfriend and I visited on Sunday, July 6, 2025. The food and presentation were superb and far-exceeded the expectations I had. The striped bass was undoubtedly the best we’d ever been served, and I am confused by any customers’ complaints regarding portion sizes because I found the portions to be generous and much larger than you’d find at other fine dining restaurants.
Our waiter was great, and the food truly is five-star worth. I am from Palm Beach County in South Florida and have many years experience in restaurant management and fine dining, so I am neither unfamiliar to haute cuisine nor with low standards when it comes to fresh seafood, and this location hits the mark and would be a standout even in the highly competitive restaurant culture of South Florida. I highly recommend it to anyone and look forward to returning.

The food was delicious. Pricey only because we enjoyed a couple glasses of wine. The snapper was delicious. I loved the shaved Brussels sprouts. Good service and relaxing atmosphere.

Delicious, creative dishes at The Beach House! One of the best restaurants in the Midwest. We are returning the next two nights while staying at Starved Rock. Their salad with fennel shavings is a great starter. Their specials are very creative. The tuna bowl was excellent. Can’t wait to go back tonight!

It was all delicious and they do have a dessert store, next door which everything they make is delicious. They give you a discount on the gelato. We started with the Gorgonzola salad and cheese biscuits … were tasty and we knew we were going to enjoy the rest…. I had the crab cake hubs had the filet with lobster tail and grits on the side everything cooked to perfection! Loves the atmosphere, service was great, we went next door for a cannoli, coffee and baklava! We will be back! Our client recommended us to come here she was not wrong!

What an absolutely amazing experience to eat at this restaurant. The food is gourmet quality with diner portions. I’ve rarely been so satisfied and happy at a restaurant. The drinks, ambiance, decor and staff are all top level. I am passing through town but am a little jealous of the people that live here. I would eat at this place weekly (or more) if I could. There are not many places like this. Very grateful to the owners and chefs and staff in the kitchen that make this place exist and provide such a taste experience. Don’t miss it if you have the opportunity to eat here.

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was! I love seafood, but I typically don’t order it unless I’m on the coast (seafood needs to be FRESH)! We started with the Maryland Crab Cake, which was delicious! In most of my past experiences, crab cakes are always too dry when I order them & lack flavor. This was not the case here! It was excellent! We also started w/ the Pork Belly Tacos, which were very good as well, but I thought the spicy mayo was a bit too heavy. I ordered the Clam Chowder (I’m VERY picky about my clam chower & this one was SO GOOD), & the Sea Bass (Caribbean Style) that was on the Catch of the Day menu. It was damn good & fresh tasting! The Cioppino & Pork Shank were also very impressive! Will be back to try more things! Keep it up!

Great atmosphere. Octopus was phenomenal. Pork belly tacos were to die for. Bruchetta was amazing. Had the Skate fish which was the catch of the day and I couldn’t believe how well they cooked such a delicate fish. Delicious. My wife had the Petite Filet with Gorgonzola Cheese medium rare and it was slightly overcooked but still good. She also had a Lobster Tail side that was perfectly done. My son had the Greek Lamb shank with Roasted Brussels in a Sweet Thai Chili sauce that I cannot speak more highly about. Get them. The lamb was falling off the bone and had a generous amount of meat. For our 1st experience here we give it 5 stars. Staff was friendly and fast and food was nice. Can’t wait to go again. Highly recommend.
