Overall Score: 7.1/10
New place. Very welcoming with someone greeting at the door. Cool scent menu with some unique options. Inside was very clean, spacious, and had a BBQ feel.

Brisket mac n cheese 6.8/10
Very good and prepared well with a fair price. Another customer even mentioned they liked it too.

Sausage 7.1/10
Perfectly cooked, tasted amazing, and looked great. Very good overall and priced decently.

I recently visited The BBQ Lab and really enjoyed the experience. From the food to the service, it was a solid meal that definitely lived up to what I had heard about the place.

I ordered the chopped chicken, which was flavorful, tender, and exactly what you want from good barbecue. But the real star of the meal was the fried okra. I had heard people talk about it before, but nothing could have prepared me for just how good it was. Perfectly fried, well-seasoned, and crispy without being greasy — it didn’t even need the accompanying sauce because it stood on its own.

The green beans with ham were also delicious — rich, savory, and cooked just right. They tasted like classic, comforting Southern sides done well.

The customer service was superb. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere was exactly what I expected from a barbecue spot — casual and relaxed — and it actually worked well for being on a date. It was comfortable and not too loud, making it easy to hold a conversation and enjoy the meal together.

Overall, The BBQ Lab delivers great food, excellent service, and a laid-back atmosphere. I’d definitely go back — especially for that fried okra.

I have ordered door dash food f4om them 3 times so far, the mqc and cheese is stail, thrle sliced brisket has no smoke, the collard greens have way 5oo many stems, the cornbread has no volume and is like a pancakem

The good is, the beef ribs are exceptional! The brisket burnt ends are flavorful but sometimes tough to chew, greenbeans have that great soul food spice 6ou look for, the baked beens are a must! All the flavors you want in a chilly but smoky. Also the hushpuppies are trash, please dont do it to yourself, just get hushpuppies from cookout.

Very high quality BBQ restaurant! BBQ and sides are super tasty. The pulled pork is excellent, the brisket is a bit dry for my liking but still good, and the sides are wonderful. Brunswick stew, cornbread, Mac and cheese, and loaded fries are all fantastic. The Brunswick stew is especially good.

Had an absolutely delicious meal at The BBQ Lab in Raleigh! The burnt ends were incredibly flavorful—tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. Their pork ribs were the second best I’ve ever had, which says a lot considering how many BBQ spots I’ve tried. The sides didn’t disappoint either—the fried okra had a great crunch, and the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting.

Surprisingly, their vegan burger was also spot on—a great option for non-meat eaters that didn’t feel like an afterthought. On top of the great food, the place was clean, well-maintained, and had a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving BBQ done right.

Great atmosphere and service but the food was just ok. We got here right when they opened, bracket was room temp at best. The Mac and cheese wasn’t hot or any were close to warm. The bake beans were terrific as was the potato salad. I had hoped for so much better.

First time trying the sandwiches. The Judy was awesome. Saw it being made and ended up ordering one myself instead of my usual brisket as figured I should try something new as was using offline. It was amazing the turkey was so good and the sandwich was a nice combination of flavors and perfectly portioned. I’ll have to try the other sandwiches next time I go back

We absolutely loved the food and the staff were fabulous. Some friends recommended this place and it did not disappoint. We went on a Sunday so that we could try the beef ribs and pastrami. They were both very tender and had a fantastic flavor. Also, it was a ton of food! We also ordered the okra, green beans and fries and all were very good (the okra was the star in my opinion). The staff brought over a sweet treat for my kids and they were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
