New place. Very welcoming with someone greeting at the door. Cool scent menu with some unique options. Inside was very clean, spacious, and had a BBQ feel.
Brisket mac n cheese 6.8/10
Very good and prepared well with a fair price. Another customer even mentioned they liked it too.
Sausage 7.1/10
Perfectly cooked, tasted amazing, and looked great. Very good overall and priced decently.
I ordered the chopped chicken, which was flavorful, tender, and exactly what you want from good barbecue. But the real star of the meal was the fried okra. I had heard people talk about it before, but nothing could have prepared me for just how good it was. Perfectly fried, well-seasoned, and crispy without being greasy — it didn’t even need the accompanying sauce because it stood on its own.
The green beans with ham were also delicious — rich, savory, and cooked just right. They tasted like classic, comforting Southern sides done well.
The customer service was superb. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere was exactly what I expected from a barbecue spot — casual and relaxed — and it actually worked well for being on a date. It was comfortable and not too loud, making it easy to hold a conversation and enjoy the meal together.
Overall, The BBQ Lab delivers great food, excellent service, and a laid-back atmosphere. I’d definitely go back — especially for that fried okra.
The good is, the beef ribs are exceptional! The brisket burnt ends are flavorful but sometimes tough to chew, greenbeans have that great soul food spice 6ou look for, the baked beens are a must! All the flavors you want in a chilly but smoky. Also the hushpuppies are trash, please dont do it to yourself, just get hushpuppies from cookout.
Food was great. Turkey was delicious. .
Surprisingly, their vegan burger was also spot on—a great option for non-meat eaters that didn’t feel like an afterthought. On top of the great food, the place was clean, well-maintained, and had a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving BBQ done right.
Beer, bourbon, and bbq for everyone!(:
