I visited Basil Leaf for lunch with a bestie. The crowd was minimal, primarily retirees and people grabbing their lunch to go. It was clean, fairly quiet and our server took good care of our needs. I ordered sushi and the drunken noodles. The entree was served with a cup of soup and all the food was AMAZING. I highly recommend the sushi and can attest to the clean feeling of the food…definitely didn’t leave feeling like I’d eaten greasy or heavy fare. I’ll be back!

I dined around 8:30pm on a Sunday evening. As they close at 9:30, I worried they might be annoyed to get a customer that late. But though they were starting to clean up, they were very accommodating as well. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls and pineapple friend rice with tofu. The food was excellent, as usual. Service was very attentive. It’s well-decorated and clean inside. One of my favorite restaurants in Winston-Salem. They take take out orders as well.

We love Thai food and we were disappointed when our normal Thai restaurant was closed on Sunday afternoon. We decided to try The Basil Leaf and see how things compared. The service at this restaurant was great. Everyone was kind, helpful and gracious. It was wonderful service. The appearance of the food was also really pretty. Sadly the quality of the food was disappointing. The very first thing I noticed was that they used frozen mixed vegetables in addition to fresh peppers in their panang curry. The Thai restaurant that we love uses all fresh vegetables… and the fresh crisp versus the soft mush makes a huge difference. Overall the flavors were just not as rich as we’re used to either. The coconut milk tasted watered down in the dishes and really made the dishes somewhat dull. While I rate the service as 5 stars, I just cannot get past the disappointment with the quality of the food. Maybe we hit this place on a bad day, but I don’t think we’ll be trying it again.

This is my favorite restaurant. The space is calm , quiet and clean. The staff is so friendly and attentive. The service is fast but they dont rush you through your meal. The food is fantastic. I have tried many of the menu selections and all of them were great. The prices are very reasonable and the meals include a food & spring roll appetizer. I highly recommend you eat here.

Great Thai food in a nice and pleasant atmosphere. The added benefit of being able to order the absolute best tempura fried chicken with my red curry is phenomenal. The Crab Rangoon tastes wonderful too. The tea is freshly brewed, and not that nasty canned stuff, which is another reason to go.

Such a pretty place. The music was soft enough to carry on a conversation, but just loud enough to enjoy. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first visit, but I would definitely go again. I highly recommend it!!

I love the outdoor eating that’s possible here. It’s shady and quiet. The food is also quite good. But I would say that two out of five for spicy is not very spicy at all so for folks who like spice I would go for at least three. Also the vegetables are only mildly cooked so if you like more well cooked vegetables than I would tell them that you want your vegetables cooked a little bit more

I really love their Satay Chicken and Egg/Spring roll. Food presentation is perfect and staff were very attentive too!
Just giving 4 stars because I think the coconut milk soup would be better when you make it with more thickness. It’s a little bit watery for me or maybe it’s just preference. Been to a lot foreign restaurants around the area and you’re my #2 so far.

I must say my experience at this location was amazing. The sauces that they had for my drunken noodles we’re so good. I must say I will be coming back to get some more because we had a blast and I hope that anyone who reads this tries the basil leaf out and does not think twice about going because it will be well worth it.

The restaurant staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is modern and clean. The food flavor are authentic but the portions do not match the price of the dishes. The sushi menu is pedestrian at best with very high price compared to the portions. There are other thai restaurant within 5 miles that have more generous portions and a more authentic flavors. But this place has better atmosphere. The offset on a prices of each dish and it’s portions are very high. This will be our only visit here.
