Luke was absolutely amazing – awesome bartender and super knowledgeable. We also met the owner Jeff who was very kind. Food was great and Luke made us some GREAT drinks. Very good vibes here 10/10 will come back again.

We just stopped in for a few pre-dinner cocktails and enjoyed the Ivory Tower and the one that blew me away was Passion’s Paradise. They had decorated for Halloween and it made the vibes fun and moody.

Ok food, poor service but with a good atmosphere. I had Impossible Burger with chips and a Local Legend cider. The burger and chips were ok. The service was sloooow. We had to track down our server (as did others) for help. The atmosphere was inviting and fun looking out from big open windows on to the street. The cider was delicious.

This space is so cozy and Lovely! As I’m sure you can imagine, it’s so nice to find a warm and inviting space in Seattle in the Fall/Winter. I was here for some drinks and food with a few friends and am so happy they suggested the Barrel Thief. The drinks were delicious (the Arcadia cocktail is the embodiment of all things Autumn and wonderful), the food was tasty, and the staff (Luke and Jeff were honestly so lovely and kind) were so sweet. I’m glad I found another spot I can come spend an evening with loved ones in a perfect spot. Thank you for all you do and for making tough decisions when bar patrons are not on their best behavior!

Nice whiskey selection, and wonderful scotch Sunday!
I like their truffle fries as well, nice flavor with reasonable price!

The cocktails here are also Ok, but I personally like their whiskey selections better.
A nice place for drinks in Fremont!

Drinks are well served. Food is hit or miss. From appetizers we ordered hummus, charcuterie board and chef’s mushrooms. From dishes we ordered a hamburger. The hummus was too salty which was left uneaten, mushrooms were too mushy. You can’t mess up the charcuterie board. The burger and fries tasted good though.

Overall we spent 80+ per person.

Barrel Thief is an absolute gem. I’ve gone there through a change of ownership, the pandemic and many other events and it has never managed to disappoint. It is, a tucked away phenomenal bar and restaurant.

The Whisk(e)y selection is their main attraction and outside of Cannon, MWS and Jack Rose you’ll be hard pressed to find a better variety of high quality whiskies. They have you covered from Bullet all the way to 50yr Glenlivet and specialty whiskies like Whistle Pig’s the Spirit of Mauve or Yamazaki.

Food changes a bit but I can’t say I’ve had more than one dish I didn’t like, and the staff is always receptive to feedback.

The titular staff is the best part and while they’ve changed over the years they are, and continue to be the heart of the restaurant.

Barrel Thief with it’s whiskey passport, festivity nights and Whiskey vault manages to capture the atmosphere of a Speakeasy but the heart of a well worn local watering hole.

If you are in Seattle and the above intrigues you, you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not visit.

This review is taking in consideration the food that we ate more than the general « feel » of the place which is actually really good . The service was really pleasant but I got a feeling that it was way understaffed , every drink order took about 20 minute to arrive (even for a beer ). Regarding the food , it was not bad , but it wasn’t great, at least compare to the menu prices . The fish was lacking flavors or texture, and the steak was just average . I wouldn’t complain if the dishes were less than 27$ a plate . We had a great time nevertheless and will be back for drinks , when the place is less crowded .

The Barrel Thief was a really awesome addition to an already great day after exploring Bainbridge island. We had excellent pours of neat whiskey, which was helped by the excellent service. I will say that the hummus we got was okay at best and the place definitely seemed understaffed. Would come back for sure.

We were told to stop in here for single mall scotch and the flights were awesome. The choices seem endless and they have everything I’ve ever wanted to try. The atmosphere is beautiful and service is quick and friendly.
