We heard there was a new menu and new chef. So we came back after a couple years hiatus to give the restaurant another try. Let me say that we were blown away! The flavor and texture combinations were masterfully crafted. Fresh, quality, clean ingredients. Many gluten free items to choose from which is a must for me. We started with the Pickled Deviled Eggs. Then I had the Tomahawk Pork Chop and my husband chose the Airline Chicken with Potatoes & Mushrooms. Service and restaurant atmosphere were great. We’ll be back way more often now!

This is a great spot off the young beaten path in the heart of boiling Springs with an amazing ambience around the restaurant, walking the grounds, the rustic of the barn the service was as expected. Great recommendations by our waiter. I did op for the smoked old-fashioned. I’m a huge fan of my date and I both got crabcakes and we opted for the brie Brulé, which was really good. I do wish they would’ve gave us a few more toast points but that’s a good problem to have time between drinks appetizer meal follow ups always perfect amount of time. We did not opt for dessert since we were pretty satisfied from the appetizer and entrées. drinks were really good After dinner. We even cashed out to free up our table and then went and sat at the bar for a nightcap before we left and walked around the grounds great spot like to go back again maybe when it gets a little cooler, there is an outside fire pit in the corner of the restaurant however, it was a little warm to sit around the fire at that timebut definitely come back if you haven’t checked this place out you should you’re missing out

I wish I could say something better about The Barn Restaurant and Allenberry but sadly we now only go for the plays. Fingers crossed.
Negs:
– Fall Menu lacking varies choices and out of selections to make it slimmer.
– slow to get food or attention.
– staff (other than servers) still non verbal. They talk to no guests. I say “still” because of a previous time I approached staff and they shun you.
– desserts listed on menu not available.
– value for price
Pos:
-Hostess was nice enough, servers friendly. Reservation taken to a seat right away. Nice anniversary card at table.
– Beautiful atmosphere.
– clean bathrms

We went to The Barn Restaurant on 10/22/25 for our anniversary dinner and spent $120 w/o the tip and left thinking it was nothing impressive for the price.

First when you walk into the main entrance, before walking to the barn entrance, 2 “girls” were at the front desk and I expected a nice greeting or how can we help you. Nothing. One sitting ON a desk, both just gossiping. We found the restaurant entrance ourselves. At least the interior signs are good. Our server was Jonah and I will say he was super nice and seemed knowledgeable. We tipped him nicely for this. We know he can’t control the speed of the food coming out. (So slow) He was able to substitute 2 of the sides that came with my steak. Although the one side included still came out and my one substitute was a spoon full of practically nothing. Pics of the Brussel Sprout mess. Steak was mediocre.
Looking forward to my favorite dessert, I was informed they were out of the crème brûlée. How do you run out of custard that you just light on fire?
Leaving, girls at the front desk. Still nothing. No good night, no thank you for coming. They had a lot of non work related things to do.
Allenberry used to be the high class go-to place where you felt welcomed in a special event. The general staff that you see on the property all needs replaced. Same experience at a wedding show I attended in 2021. Tried to talk to wedding planners and no hellos, no info given, standing around talking personal stuff.
The owners must not push good personalities any more.

Decided to have my birthday dinner here but it was a mistake. For how expensive this place is, the service was not up to par. For starters the waitress, Allie, forgot our drinks, we waited for about 15 mins, food came out and still no drinks so had to ask someone else for it.
The house bread, focaccia with honey butter for $8, came with 3 slices of bread…was not good it was like a crouton, super tough and dry. The flavor wasn’t what focaccia is normally either, it was bland. She told us the steak entree would not disappoint, but it did disappoint. The steak was tiny, about 1.5” wide and 4” long and very thin. She rarely came out to see how we were doing and never asked if we wanted refills of the drinks even though it was empty. I noticed the other waitress, was very attentive, asked if they want refills and nice to the other table, my birthday dinner would have been better if she was my waitress. I ordered truffle fries with my meal and received regular fries instead so had to ask someone for it to be corrected. Overall food tasted good (other than the focaccia) but the steak was a joke, service was poor and received no apology for the drinks being forgotten and food being incorrect.

Generally speaking this is a nice place. Pricey for the quality of food and service.

Evidently most of their servers went back to college and they don’t have enough service staff.

If you make a reservation that only means you can get a table. You still might have to order your food at the bar and then go find a place to sit and then they may or may not bring you your food. If you want another drink you have to get up, go to the bar and order it yourself.

Unfortunately in our case the two bartenders couldn’t handle that kind of business. We waited 25 minutes just to get our first drink.

My recommendation is if you try to make a reservation, ask if this is the type of service they’re doing and then go someplace else.

Beautiful site. Food was good. Service. Awful. Waitress took orders & then disappeared. Food runner dropped off starters. There were 6 of us. No plates. I had to get up & get them. We asked for a straw. Never came. I had to get up & get Ordered side we didn’t get. For the longest time, no wait staff. Finally a food runner told us they all decided to take break together. Here’s the best: ask hostess if wait staff were available & she replied ‘I don’t know what that means’

Went for Valentines day. Atmosphere was beautiful! Service was a bit slow but understandable on a special occasion. Food was good but not great. We had the surf & turf. Crab cake was a little briney and the steak was a little over cooked from what I ordered. All in all it was an average experience for spending $200.

Chef Zach Ottens has put together an incredible menu. The smoked pork belly bites started off our Valentine’s Day dinner, followed by a delightful charcuterie board with some of the best apple butter and chow chow this PA Dutch boy has ever had. The rainbow trout in dill crema was rich and delicious, and I almost never order cooked fish. Finished the evening with two incredible dessert cocktails, and a Shoofly cheesecake that I’ll be dreaming about until my next visit.

Everything was reasonably priced for the great quality and more than fair portions. Our server Victoria (I’m really hoping I remembered her name) was engaging and efficient. House Manager Corey was professional and warm on what can be a brutal night in the restaurant industry.

We were absolutely blown away and started planning our next visit before dessert even hit the table.
