The Barn is a beautiful restaurant with a nice bar and live music sometimes. We came last year and there was a different head chef who we think was much better. The Brussel sprouts and the three onion soup were amazing during this visit to be fair. The Cesar salad was as dry as a desert. Others felt the crab cakes were just okay. I think we are just let down because the food and service seemed a lot better last year. Maybe we ate on an off night.

Superb food, getting the sticky buns that they make there is a must! Waitress was not very friendly though. Food is pricey, but to be expected. Great views eating in the deck and walking around the property after eating was very pleasant.

Great food, great atmosphere, and fast service! All of that on a Friday night at 6pm…Wow! This restaurant is beautiful, with a good mix of food items and drinks to order! You can’t really go wrong with the Barn! My only minor constructive feedback, would be that I ordered a meal that came with fries, and there is no ketchup on the table…no problem, but then the server should either ask if the guest needs ketchup or it should be served with the meal. Also, there is no salt and pepper on the tables. Just a common courtesy in my opinion to have them on the table. These are things that I know if I asked, they would have been given. I just don’t want to have to ask! Truly, the Barn is worth a visit and I definitely recommend for any style of meal or celebration!

The barn was an absolutely exceptional experience. I took my wife for her first Mothers Day, and the food was exceptional. The service was great, and the atmosphere was quaint and relaxing. Will certainly return!

Food and drink prices are a little on the high side but food is excellent. Great selection of food. Menu has some items labeled Gluten free and when questioned the waiter had to ask the kitchen who said an item was gluten free. When the dish came out it clearly was not Gluten free. They replaced the order with something that was 100% gluten free.

Excellent experience, first class dining on boiling springs. Prices go with the atmosphere, so be prepared to spend like 25 a plate average. Server was super nice and friendly. Food came out relatively quickly for a large party of 12. I’d say all in all we spent 2 hours there. This is a dress nice place so keep that in mind as well. Enjoy!

There was a mixup in our reservations for dinner tonight & they did not have seating for us close to the music as I had requested.

Very slow service, We didn’t see a waitress until 15 minutes after we were seated, then it took 20 minutes to get our drinks. It took almost 90 minutes to get our entrees. The food wasn’t good enough to warrant a return visit. Additionally, we had to get our dinners to go so we could get to the theater on the premises in time for the show (the dinners arrived at our table five minutes before show time). We ate our dinners while we watched the show, which was a ridiculous situation. Sadly, staff at the theater told us that this is not unusual. We will not be returning to The Barn.

We were here for our rehearsal dinner on the 4th of August. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. The waitress handling our party of 14 people was fantastic. Didn’t miss a thing!

Now on day three of our culinary road trip, we arrived in rural Pennsylvania. In so many restaurants the server will ask, “have you been here before.” I really wanted the question this time, but dang it didn’t come. I lived at Allenberry in 1973/4 while my parents built a house in White Rock Acres nearby. As a member of the club as a teen I learned to play tennis there, went to my friend’s bar mitsvah, attended weddings …. Back in the day, my friend from the neighboring house and I would just walk into the kitchen at the “old Allenberry” restaurant and get snacks. The Heinzes were so generous and back then all I remember from the menu was shrimp scampi and beef tenderloin. Good for the time. What a gorgeous transition to a more contemporary cuisine. The renovation is splendidly done. The staff, fresh faced and attentive! Service from the bar was excellent although the wine list is a bit shallow. We had the Korean styled pierogis and tempura shrimp to start followed by the glazed salmon and Tuscan chicken. The orzo pilaf with the salmon was lovely and the salmon perfect. The chicken was good too. Finished with the famous sticky buns ala mode. I was thrilled to be back after so many years and it is wonderful that this beautiful place was saved. The walk through the grounds after the dinner … priceless. (Alas, no more clay tennis courts …)
