As semi-locals, we knew the menu inside and out which allowed us to pick some favorite dishes, but Chef Tyler and team made a few special dishes we requested that were just superb. We were so fortunate to have an awesome spot to kick-off our wedding weekend, it being a local restaurant we love was the cherry on top. Thank you, BNI team!
EVOO base, roasted mushrooms, brie cheese, fresh rosemary, red wine-fig reduction, baby arugula
The crust was thin, crispy with cornmeal, bubbly in all the right places and cooked to perfection. I appreciated there was no sauce because I could really taste all the wonderful toppings.. dabs of a delicious fig/wine jam, slices of brie, mushroom slices and adorable little sliced & whole Wild mushrooms, and all sprinkled with the freshest arugula. It was incredibly delicious and I will definitely be getting another one soon!
Ordering was simple online, it was ready in under 20 minutes, and the price was more than fair for how original and perfectly created this takeout meal was! There was some interesting sheet of paper within the pizza box that kept crust crispy and moist.
Highly recommend!
We have wanted to try this place for a number of years. We always heard great things about it, but never tried. There were grounds for a special celebration, so we naturally knew where to go–The Barley Neck!
We had an appatizer of friend green tomatoes (which were super good), the seared tuna entree (from their somewhat standard menu) and scallops over their homemade, fresh pasta that were on special. Both dishes were fantastic, but the seared scallops really stuck out. The dish was perfectly seasoned, creamy and incredibly delicious.
Although we didn’t need it (the quality and quantity of food was perfect), we were asked about dessert. Since it was a special occasion, I was on the fence. When it came out that we were celebrating a special milestone, Gwen (our server) sealed the deal and offered a dessert of our choice on the house.
The flourless Chocolate Torte was so decadent and delicious. Although not made in house (they source most of their desserts locally though) it was so very good.
Top notch food, staff, atmosphere. All around a really great experience and I’ll recommend to anyone they give it a try.
A few things to note. The prices were reasonable (a bit higher in general since were on Cape) and the parking can be a bit challenging. There’s extra parking behind the building FYI. Definitely make reservations, you can do it online. There is also a yard space with corn hole and nice music. On a fair weather day, sitting outside would be great.
Anyway, stop on it and give Barley Neck a try!
