Great food very expensive and they charge you for additional’s like if you bring it on cake they charge you $15. Whatever you do, don’t drink the tapwater it tastes, and smells like sewage. They should invest in a good water service. especially with their high prices.

I’ve been here twice calling for a reservation seating was available wonderful greeting when I arrived and all servers / waiters very polite, very willing to make sure your every need in met all done in an impressive timely fashion food was amazing oysters Rockefeller for a appetizer and for our main course was stuffed lobster and also the variety of seafood over linguine is my recommendations but we were so full and satisfied that we could not order coffee or dessert but maybe next time we’ll start with coffee and dessert very reasonably priced portions are very nicely put together. Oh did I mention the sangria came cold and really hit the spot Hope this helps. Keep your taste buds dancing have fun. Enjoy.

Hi, I wanted to share feedback about my visit.
The blonde lady who received us made us feel very unwelcome — no smile, no warmth. That’s not how guests should be greeted.
Thankfully, our waiter was very kind and helpful.
But the food was honestly terrible — no flavor at all, especially the fish. It looked nice, but it tasted bland and disappointing.

Thanks for your time.
I never come back sorry

I like this place!
You get a nice view of the waterfront.
The food is good depending on what you get.
I love that I ordered a half dozen oysters and got 7! I told the waiter to thank the chef.
I made the mistake of getting a Greek salad which was just “ok”, but I’ll definitely go again and try something else. I love that they have espresso and desserts without sugar. My husband and I shared a raspberry sorbet which was delicious and worth the price.

We were pleasantly surprised!
The place looked a bit tired with worn carpet, and for that probably hasn’t changed since it’s hay day or generation ago. But it was cleaned with white tablecloth. We were, understandably, blown away by the quality of the food that came out.

The calamari appetizer was fried to perfection. The portion was generous and the marinara sauce tasty. It filled up the two of us before we even got our entrées.

The burger was cooked just as I requested and tasted fresh with good quality beef. Even the kaiser roll on which it was placed was fresh and complemented the burger.

The seafood combo was good and came with a choice of potatoes. We chose home fries. They will cooked well with some crispness not rushed out like some restaurants

I was impressed with the quality of the food. The scene of the Raritan Bay is also impressive, and it appears that in the warm weather there is probably outdoor seating. I definitely recommend this place for the quality of the food which is, after all, why are you go out!

A very quaint spot for lunch and dinner on the waterfront with a great view of Staten Island and the Raritan Bay. Clams casino made with whole clam, not chopped. The quality of the seafood is outstanding. The service is excellent. Highly recommend.

I went to a holiday party for a group. There were 3 other parties going on in the resturant, so service was a bit stressed, however everything was excellant. I had the barge special and the crabmeat filling was REAL crab meat , I had nice large pieces of leg meat not the process crab sea legs made of fish and fillers that many places try to pass off as crab filling.
My only concern was the restrooms were freezing. Seriously not just chilly, but felt like there was no heat in the room at all.

White linen tablecloths. Classy feel though relaxed at lunch. Treated my mom to her fave place. Prices are very reasonable for seafood, great view and great quantity. Loved it! Walked after along water front, view of NY. Delightful experience.

I’m so glad I decided to take a ride and try the Barge Restaurant and Banquet Faculity. Its located across from the Arthur Kill Waterways in
Perth Amboy. There is a patio and indoor seating. I chose indoor seating because they were construction crews working at the time of my visit. The Barge restaurant has been around since 1925.It’s mostly seafood but they do have a nice selection of Soups, salads, burgers,
wraps, steak, pasta and chicken. My review is based on lunch only. I chose for my entree the Broiled Scallops. I was surprised I receive 13 scallops for a lunch entree. Came with a house salad, and a choice of a side.I choose a baked potato. My scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked. My salad was crisp and a nice size. My friend ordered their Lobster Salad Wrap. She had a choice of sides and chose their potato salad. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal.
The barge offers an extensive list of desserts, So many that they couldn’t list all of them on their menu. I had to scan the rest on to my iphone.
for dessert I chose their Chambord Parfait, With vanilla ice cream layered Chambord and fresh whipped cream. This is where willpower comes in and I only had a couple of scoops it was that good.
Second dessert I chose was their Crème Brûlée.It too was very good with a very creamy custard interior, and a hard shell on the exterior. It was just waiting to be crack with my spoon. Whipped cream was piped on the side of the dessert.
The interior of the Barge is your typical nautical theme, with blue walls and nautical wallpaper as you walk in.There are white linens on all tables. The tables are distanced apart. The staff was very nice and friendly. They did their best to accommodate us at the time. The service was a bit slow, so I’m giving them four stars. I think they needed more waiters.
This restaurant has two dining rooms which are spread out.The Barge restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
Next time I come I’d like to sit outside on the patio and take in the views of the waterways. When you’re finished take a stroll on the pier that’s across the street.

We started with steamers, and they were perfect. My flounder sandwich was very tasty. My boyfriend had the barge, which the stuffing was very flavorful. Can’t wait to go back again soon.
