In 1992 the Peacock family bought an old Exxon station with one purpose in mind – to create in San Antonio the same great barbecue that can be found in some of the small towns across Texas. The result is some of the best barbecue in all of South Texas. At the Barbecue Station you will find all the traditional meats and side dishes. What you won’t find are fancy tablecloths and all the non-barbecue items found in so many of the chain BBQ restaurants. If what you’re looking for is wood smoked barbecue where the sides are made fresh daily from scratch, then the Barbecue Station is your place. Come see Zac, Mark, or Jay and let them pull your choice of meat right off the pit and slice it in front of you.
Casual family-owned eatery serving up wood-smoked meats & classic sides in a former filling station.

I wasn’t disappointed with this choice for lunch today. Had the brisket and sausage meat combo with beans and Mac and cheese. Can’t go wrong with the meat choices. Sides needed some seasoning.

My first impression was, they could’ve trimmed it a little tighter. My first bite told me it’d be sacrilege to put any kind of barbecue sauce on this meat. Brisket is outstanding potato salad OK mac & cheese OK I’m wishing I had two sandwiches.

As soon as I landed I wanted to get some of the Texas BBQ & I wasn’t disappointed. My friend said this is where he eats… One of his go to spots in San Antonio… The BBQ Station

Oh boy, this place was amazing! Loved the look and atmosphere of the place. We were greeted by everyone behind the counter and the services was great. I got the brisket and turkey plate with green beans and Mac & cheese. Delicious! Everything had great flavor and loved the little heat on the Mac & cheese. I look forward to coming back when I am in town for work. 10/10 recommend!!!!

We did takeout from here for dinner. We ordered Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, Sausage, Pulled Pork, Macaroni and cheese, Creamed Corn, and Green Beans. Hubby said both Beef and Pork Ribs were excellent and everything else was okay. We will try this establishment again and try other menu selections.

We enjoyed freshly barbecued meats for lunch at the BBQ Station! We ordered the sausage, chicken, and brisket. All were tender and absolutely delicious! The sides we chose were jalapeno Mac & cheese, baked beans, and potato salad, which were average. Our dessert was the delicious peach cobbler! The BBQ Station is a renovated gas station that is casual and relaxing but makes no pretense of being anything fancy: plastic forks and knives, butcher paper table cover, paper towels for napkins, and self-serve soft drinks. The service is friendly and efficient. There is room in the back for live music in the evening. We would go back for the barbecued meat for sure.

Cute BBQ spot with a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff was attentive and made ordering easy. I tried the creamed corn, which unfortunately lacked flavor, and the jalapeño mac and cheese, which tasted more like regular mac and cheese. The pulled pork had a nice peppery kick, but the BBQ sauce pairing didn’t quite complement it. The brisket was pretty good overall. While I probably wouldn’t return, the friendly staff made the experience enjoyable.

Found this resto through TikTok saying it’s underrated. We haven’t explored SATX much so we gave it a try.
Service was great. We liked that they have plates available. We got the brisket & sausage and the brisket & chicken. For sides, we tried the jalapeño mac & cheese ✅, pinto beans ✅, potato salad (a bit sour for my liking), and corn & cream (lacked flavor.
The vibe is also nice.
Overall, it is a good resto and will definitely come back. The place is clean and you won’t ever feel rushed to finish your food.

Visited this place while we were in town from California. We really wanted a Texas BBQ experience.
The restaurant vibe is just that. The smell of BBQ smoke smacked us in the face as soon as we walked in..
The staff slices the fresh meat upon receiving the order.
I had a 3 meat plate with brisket, pork ribs and beef ribs. All were perfectly cooked, tender and perfectly seasoned. The BBQ sauces at the table were fantastic.
5/5 stars, as the staff, food, and restaurant were just what we were looking for.
