What a fantastic throwback!! Beat valued barbecue in San Diego. Tucked in a small shopping center from the 80s. This place looks like you stepped back into the 60s.
Clean and nostalgic. The brisket sandwich is stacked.
The pork rib special on Saturday is the way to go.

I feel like I’ve been going here my whole life, and they’ve always been consistently good. QUICK service and plenty of seating inside. They have great bbq sauce (I judge places based on their sauces). It’s a really unique restaurant when it comes to decor, we don’t have many places nearby like it.

What a piece of awesome history. This establishment has been around since 1947. It has a nostalgic look and great staff to make it a very enjoyable and tasty meal with your friend and family. We were lucky enough to go in and enjoy the #5 plate with ham, beef and ribs with 2 sides and a chicken sandwich plate with 2 sides as well. The meats were all delicious. Im not much of a red meat eater but I really did like the ribs. The bbq sauce was authentic and super tasty. The bbq beans were amazing. I can’t say enough great things about our visit. Please go check it out for yourself soon.

Grew up in North Park where they had a Barbecue Pit exactly like the one in LaMesa. Could not believe that everything was exactly like the store in N.P. food was great service was very quick and professional the seating was the same as NP 30 years ago. It was awesome. Of course the prices are higher but that’s just the nature of the beast these days. Recommend you try it. It is worth the trip.

Easily the best barbecue spot in San Diego county! Portions are large especially for the prices which are very fair for the quality of food. For 25$ you get what looked like a pound of brisket,2 sides and a biscuit. This place reminds me of places I used to eat at when I was a kid where you knew it was owned by a local family and you knew they were passionate about food from the quality and portions they gave. 5/5 will def be back for more in the future!
