DEAL: We are so glad we met Lexi, who introduced us to The BAR ROOM + kitchen a fantastic restaurant and bar right in the heart of downtown! As luck would have it, she also works here, and we were welcomed by her friendly smile. Lexi is a fan of Brie’s page too and loves using it as a go-to for dog-friendly spots!
We grabbed a seat at one of the pet friendly outdoor tables out front, surrounded by tropical plants, and were served right away. The menu is full of fun, flavorful options, we highly recommend the Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts appetizer and the signature TBR Tea cocktail. Bonus: Happy Hour runs every day from 11am to 6pm with $3 beer specials and $5 house wines. Cheers!

Very good food. Came here few times now having our daughter in the college nearby. Today had hummus for appetizer which was out of this world ! The hummus itself was good, but it came decorated with nice blocks of feta cheese, peppers, olives. The whole dish was just delicious! I then had Cajun salmon tacos. Big chunks of fish, with guac, pico and cheese. Finished this with a fresh draft beer. Just heaven. The ladies working there were super nice as well. The vibe is a bit of a local bar where guys go for a quick beer but it’s just the surface, place really shines with food and service.

The Bar Room and Kitchen is a great neighborhood place with consistently good food and a full bar with multiple televisions. Most tables are high tops near the bar, which can get noisy; some low tops near the back are quieter. The pictures here include the hummus appetizer, shrimp and asparagus risotto, branzino, beet salad, and the short rib.

Ate here for lunch. It was quiet and I believe there was one person for wait service. They were very nice. The food was ok and in the end a bit expensive for what it was. We had fish tacos and Mac and cheese, but nothing had a distinct flavor for it unfortunately.

I went to high school with the owner, who is a fixture behind the bar. Our class loves to come here whenever we get together, and we always run into former classmates who have the same idea.
The food is out of this world, and the specials are spot-on. I usually skip dessert, but we shared a poundcake concoction that was baked from scratch, topped with some crazy-amazing ice cream, and I’m saving room, next time we come(this week)!
