On top of that, I ordered a mocktail that was never brought to me, leaving me the entire visit without a drink. When we spoke to the manager, Cesar, rather than resolving the issue, he only defended her. It was also very noticeable that he had been drinking, his speech was slow and his behavior suggested he was under the influence, which is completely unprofessional for a manager.
To make matters worse, one of my friends asked the manager for a paper with both his name (Cesar) and the bartender’s name (Shea). While Cesar was writing the names down, Shea tried to grab and tear the paper, questioning why her name was being written. That behavior was completely inappropriate and unacceptable.
Overall, this was a frustrating and disrespectful experience that no guest should ever go through.
The ambience of the bar is sophisticated yet inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening. The service was prompt and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind after a long day or to enjoy a well-crafted cocktail, The Bar at the Wave Resort is definitely worth a visit.
1. I was there for an hour before this group of friends arrived, but with 2 of them looking barely 21. When Shea carded them and they couldn’t produce ID, that is where the unrest began. I sat right next to these people. She never said “please don’t come here again”. She did state she would issue a refund.
2. Cesar was in no way presenting intoxicated, if anything, he was extremely professional and calm when dealing with this pack of Karens. The woman attacked him incessantly and said “why are you not talking to or engaging with us?” And proceeded to complain about lack of service due to the failure of presenting IDs. He willingly wrote down their names at which point the woman threw the paper back at him asking for their locations/addresses, which is completely inappropriate. Shea never snatched or tore anything.
3. There are cameras with audio covering every angle of the bar that can debunk the slanderous accusations made by this group. it’s one thing to share your personal experience, it’s another to spread libel that can be proven as false by witnesses and footage. Bless any other unlucky bartenders/servers that come across folks like this.
Myself and 3 others witnessed this first hand, while we enjoyed beautifully made cocktails by a kind and professional staff. Anyone who works in the service industry will always encounter these types of people sadly. Despite these people, we had a wonderful time with a great atmosphere!
1. Bartenders can refuse service for any reason at all, especially when there’s a lack of identification and disruptive/harassing behavior.
2. There are 3 active cameras directly over the bar, no “ifs”. There was nothing polite about your group’s behavior, specifically when talking to Cesar who did absolutely nothing wrong but try to listen to you. They do not HAVE to make you drinks, alcoholic or not. That is why it helps to actually be polite and not problematic from the outset to anyone serving you.
3. It is most certainly slander to accuse a manager, on the internet, of being intoxicated while working because you had a bad personal experience. Most definitely Karen-worthy behavior. That’s unacceptable.
4. Cesar gave you their names and said to write a complaint if you needed. The woman threw the paper back asking for addresses/locations at which point Shea said “she has no right to know that.” At no point did she grab or rip up paper from any of you, as the cameras will show.
This was my personal experience! Please take care of yourselves, and stop lying about people being under the influence at work because you are disgruntled. Good luck!!
Shea & Cesar are wonderful – everyone else should go see them for happy hour.
Thank you for your comment, but I stand by every word of my review.
1. Regarding the ID – yes, two of my friends were carded, and one did not have an ID, but that was not the source of the problem. The real issue was the completely wrong cocktail we were served and the bartender’s reaction when we politely pointed it out.
2. As for the mocktail I ordered it was never brought to me. That is a fact. I spent the entire visit without a drink. If everything was “professional and kind” as you claim, where was the drink I ordered?
3. Shea absolutely told us “I’ll refund you and please don’t come back here.” That was said directly to us. To deny it is simply dishonest.
4. The situation with the paper also happened exactly as I wrote: Cesar was writing names, and Shea attempted to interfere.
It is easy to call others “Karens” and claim there is footage, but my review reflects my personal experience. If cameras exist, they will confirm that I never received my drink and that Shea made the comments I mentioned. That is not slander — it is what happened. Inform Yourself. Thank you.
