Amazing original cocktails, and their classic cocktail menu includes some very old but rarely seen cocktails. Great atmosphere, one of the best bars in Charleston for craft cocktails.

We stopped in for a cocktail on our way out to dinner and couldn’t have been more delighted with what we found.

We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by Allen and Anna. Drinks aren’t the only thing being served at this beautiful speakeasy-style bar. The rapport with our bartenders was top notch. They were friendly, welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable – truly enjoyable to converse with.

With that said, as much as the service shines, the drinks here are definitely the star. Thoughtfully crafted and oh so delicious, we only wished we had more time to stay for more. So much so that we went back the next evening as well. If we ever find ourselves back in the area, we will definitely be stopping by again.

We have stayed at the hotel before in the past. We decided to switch it up and go to the Bennett this trip. We missed the hotel bar at the spectator so we stopped by for a drink. We sat there for 20 minutes after we ordered a drink and a charcuterie board and realized we were very thankful that we didn’t stay here. The bartender Rose never got off her phone and was on Facebook along with the bar back the entire time we were there. The energy was horrible. It felt like a chore to be there. I hope Allen is still there because we truly loved him.

Stumbled in here for a quick bite. Very mid menu. Flatbread wasn’t great, neither were the deviled eggs. Everything was also relatively lukewarm. Seemed like it sat a while under the heat lamp. I expected more from a hotel of this “caliber.” Staff was very pleasant and the drinks were delicious.

Stepping into The Bar at The Spectator Hotel is like being whisked away to a bygone era where the clink of ice in a glass and the murmur of a jazz record playing softly in the background are the prelude to an unforgettable evening. Here, the art of cocktail-making is revered, and every sip is a testament to the craft.
Rose and Corinne, the stars behind the bar, are the maestros of this symphony of flavors. With a smile as warm as the Charleston sun and a touch as deft as a painter’s, they mix, shake, and pour with an elegance that is both mesmerizing and assuring. Their service is not just courteous; it’s a masterclass in hospitality.
The cocktails they create are nothing short of liquid masterpieces. Whether it’s the boldness of an old-fashioned or the subtle complexity of a bourbon infused concoction, each drink is a harmonious blend of quality ingredients and creative flair. And it’s not just the drinks that tell a story; it’s the way Rose and Corrine present them, with a grace that elevates the entire experience.
At The Bar at The Spectator Hotel, every detail is meticulously curated to transport you to an age of sophistication and splendor. From the plush green leatherback stools to the Prohibition-style ambiance, it’s a place where the spirit of the Jazz Age is alive and well, thanks to the tireless efforts of Rose and Corinne, who ensure that every guest leaves with a story to tell and a desire to return.
In a world where the art of the cocktail can often be overlooked, The Bar at The Spectator Hotel stands as a beacon of excellence, a reminder of the time when a drink was more than just a drink—it was an experience. And with Rose and Corrine at the helm, it’s an experience that is truly spectacular. ✨

Stumbled across this bar as we were looking for a cocktail bar, it’s a hidden gem.

We sat at the bar and ordered an amazing Old fashioned, and a mezcal drink made with hot honey and tasted like Nashville hot chicken. It was such an interesting drink that was very unique and memorable.

Stumbled upon The Bar at The Spectator while awaiting dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant. The bar had a swanky vibe; dark woods, gold bar accessories, and etched glass cocktail glasses. The bartender, Kevin, was fantastic. When unsure what to order, he asked our preferred liquor and then made recommendations. He was very professional and made for a delightful happy hour experience. As with most hotel bars, the drinks were expensive (my husband had a 2oz pour of Angels Envy Rye whisky that was $29) but, if you prefer ambiance and quality over cheap liquor and plastic cups, I recommend The Bar at the Spectator. And if you go, ask for Kevin, you won’t be disappointed.
