Easy to walk by and miss this spot during the day, but The Bar is the best bar in Bar Harbor. It’s intimate (which is to say not extra large) and it’s got the great vibes of a classic “dive bar.” Clean place, great drinks, and outstanding bartenders like Joe and Dan, who also happen to be local experts. They’ve also got board/card games and ask about the Roll-a-day.

Awesome little watering hole. Fantastic for watching a ball game or playing table/board games for groups of 2-4. They don’t serve food anymore, but the bartender told me their kitchen staff moved to Tap & Barrel (also highly recommend). Bartender was kind enough to change a TV to college football game I wanted to watch. Great selection as well for the size of the place!

We spent our first and last nights in Bar Harbor at “Dan’s Bar”. The drinks were spot on and Dan is hands down the best bartender we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and talking to. Hopefully we will return in the near future.

This place is the place to hang if you want to be with the locals! Dan and Joe are the best! My husband and I were only in town for three nights but spent two of them here (after missing out on night one!) because it’s a fun spot! Dan will ask you what sport you want to watch. Our drinks never got to the bottom, and if you’re too full from dinner, Dan will take care of you! He hooked it up with an Italian secret. We got to meet some workers just starting their seasons, which to me was way intriguing. Highly recommend!
