✨ The Baker Next Door A Sweet Slice of Heaven!

From the moment I stepped in, I was wrapped in warmth and buttery aromas . The staff? Top-tier! Friendly, attentive, and genuinely joyful like sunshine in aprons ☀️ ‍ . They didn’t just serve pastries, they served kindness with every smile .

The croissants flake like golden confetti, the brownies are pure bliss , and the coffee? Hug-in-a-cup ☕. But what truly impressed me was the attention to detail even the restrooms were spotless and stylish ✨. Clean, fresh, and thoughtfully maintained proof that they care about every corner of your experience .

Cozy decor, heavenly treats, and service that feels like a warm hug . This isn’t just a bakery it’s a neighborhood treasure

If you’re craving comfort, kindness, and a pastry that makes your heart sing The Baker Next Door is calling your name

Not the friendliest staff but the food is a solid 10. I had the breakfast sandwich which was a farm fresh egg, cheese and the best bacon I’ve had in a long time. The freshly baked ciabatta bread was really tasty. The sandwich was so big I couldn’t finish it.

The bread is fantastic. Service/Staff bad. Flys on bread.. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with faccacia bread as usual ,and they forgot to toast it. I only got to know it after a bite, and they refuse to refund or help toast it again. Ordered a drink with low ice but still come with many ice – it’s the same person took my order and made the drink. I don’t think the staff cares (not the chef). Another time I pointed out there is a fly inside of counter and stopped on the croissants, and they didn’t take any measures, it’s kinda

Very disappointed with the cappuccino. It tasted burned and was very liquidy, with no foam or latte art, not what you expect for a drink close to $6. I couldn’t finish it.

Pastries were much better. The sweet morning bun was excellent (4.5/5), the pain au chocolat was nice but a bit messy to eat, and the country levain looked fresh.

I’d recommend this place for pastries, but not for latte drinks.

What a delightful discovery in Redwood City! Stepping into Baker Next Door feels like entering a haven for all things sweet and delicious. The sweet morning bun and kouign amann are absolute works of art—buttery, flaky, and caramelized to perfection. And their coffee is equally amazing, a perfect partner to the pastries. While the pudding was a bit average for my taste, the rest of the visit was a true joy. This little bakery is a pure gem

My favorite coffee spot and bakery in RWC. The cappuccino is always perfect, and they have fresh pastries every day. Bring some cash for tips, since you can’t leave a tip with a credit card and they have only one gluten free option.

Excited to have a neighborhood bakery we could easily walk to. There are various bread options throughout the day, both the baguette and seeded country loaf made excellent sandwiches. The loaf is so heavy, great texture! Also decent flat whites.

I discovered this place because my favorite barista, Alex, started working here. I really missed his old coffee shack, so I was curious to check out his new spot, say hi, and enjoy a perfectly made cappuccino.

And I completely fell in love with this place.
The bread, pastries, and food are all excellent. I especially loved the Frosnappers (I hope I’m spelling that right!) — the Danish twists. But honestly, every pastry I’ve tried has been fantastic. You can ask them to heat it up, which makes it even better. And if you take some to go, they’re still delicious the next day (and even the day after that), especially with a quick couple of minutes in the air fryer.
The house salad is a great size and always very fresh. The sandwiches are wonderful too. You can grab some to go — their pre-made salami sandwich is perfect for a road trip and comes in the cutest wrapping.
The coffee is high quality and served in both cups and mugs if you’re staying. The Mexican mocha is a great choice when you can’t decide between coffee and hot chocolate. They also sell high quality chocolate bars.

I also love the open kitchen — watching the dough being rolled and folded what feels like a hundred million times! You can really see that everything is made with care and love.
Parking can be a bit challenging, but if you’re willing to spend a little extra, there’s a parking garage under the building. Plus, there’s a cool thrift store right around the corner, which makes the visit even more fun.

I stopped into The Baker Nextdoor in Redwood City and was truly impressed. I enjoyed a wonderfully crafted cappuccino, made with care and perfect balance—smooth, rich, and comforting.

My breakfast sandwich was absolutely decadent. It came with a perfectly fried soft egg, cheddar cheese, and ham, and I requested a touch of mayonnaise. I had it all on their house-baked sourdough, which is exceptional—flavorful, fresh, and with the ideal texture. Every component was thoughtful and delicious, making it one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a long time.

A fantastic experience all around. Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality coffee, great food, and a warm neighborhood bakery vibe. ❤️
