Cute little spot that sells good ice cream and cookies, specializes in ice cream sandwiches.
Gave them 4 stars is because the cookies were a little underbaked. As a pastry chef I get why they do that (for ice cream sandwiches) but for the people who just want the cookies they’re a little too soft.

Had a great experience with my family at The Baked Bear Encinitas Location earlier today. Came in around 3:45pm, no long line. We were promptly helped by 2 girls, (who were very helpful and professional!). Not only were our sandwiches fantastic, the support from the girls really made our experience amazing. – Also want to condemn the girls for being so tolerant and patient with a group before us who was rather… difficult and rude, they truly had more patience than I could have had! Anyways, overall 10/10 experience. Thanks to the delicious treat and kindness from the staff!

LOVE this place! They have fabulous brownies and delicious and wonderfully decorated cupcakes. I love the chocolate ganache and the salted caramel chocolate cupcakes. When they make pies, they are also a favorite! The staff are friendly and accommodating. Sometimes they have free samples! It is a treat just to go into the store and see the amazing pastries that they offer.

Delicious cookies with high quality ice cream! I loved that you could get 2 different cookies to make the sandwich. We really enjoyed the iced oatmeal and the chewy butter cake cookies were a huge hit!

The place was definitely clean and tidy. I just thought the place was a bit bare. There was no place to sit inside, but there were some tables out on the sidewalk for customers of the businesses could sit down. The young man who made my ice cream sandwich was very polite. He made it perfectly. I didn’t know if I wanted the cookies warmed or not, but I said yes when he asked. It was delicious! It was so good. I sat outside at one of the tables and ate the entire Cookie Dough Ice cream sandwich, before it melted. I’ll be back,!

We’ve enjoyed their delicious ice cream sandwiches at their store in PB many summers, so when we decided we didn’t want cake for our wedding, we knew The Baked Bear would be amazing option! They were so easy to work with, super responsive and accommodating! They even last minute brought a few gluten free options for me when I found out I had to change my diet a few weeks before. I knew the ice cream sandwiches would be tasty, but I didn’t realize how big of a WOW factor they would play at our wedding. Our guests absolutely freaked out and were blown away by it! Weeks later, I still hear from friends and family how awesome they were!

The baked bear is an absolute San Diego staple. Like oven fresh cookies? Love ice cream? We’ll customize your own awesome ice cream sando! The homemade ice cream is also awesome! I’m particular to the bear-batter, since it is blue and delicious.
