The cocktails were really good, and I like their unique takes on some classics like the Bad Apple Old Fashioned.
It had a cozy atmosphere. There were classic, crowd-pleasing music hits playing softly all evening. It’s definitely a good place to have a conversation or watch sports, too
The kitchen was busy, but we were still served attentively and quickly.
My friend got the Thunderdome burger (pictured). I got a simple house burger that I already have to come back for. It was so good, I ate it too quickly for a picture.

October in Chicago doesn’t usually invite you to sit outside, but this time the weather was perfect—and so was the meal. We tried two incredible burgers: *The Figs Is In* with porter-soaked fig & bacon relish, creamy goat cheese, and smoked onion, and the *Southern Dandy* with grilled Spanish sweet onion, pepper jack, house-cured molasses bacon, and their signature sweet & spicy dandy sauce. Both were rich in flavor, beautifully balanced, and absolutely memorable. The fries deserve a mention too—especially with their in-house ranch and ketchup, which taste like they were made with real care.
The service tied it all together: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Eating outdoors on a golden October day, with flavors this bold and original, felt like the perfect snapshot of Chicago at its best.

Burger’s to die for! Juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The beer selection is outstanding with something for everyone, from local craft options to classic favorites. Service was attentive, friendly, and fast without feeling rushed. The atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Definitely bringing the whole family next time we’re around the area!

Awesome burgers! Small menu, but yet a wide variety of quite different choices… They keep a jar of water at each table which is nice, no waiting for refills. The staff is extremely nice and checks on you frequently and will explain the menu to you no problem. I ordered the Even cowgirls get the blues burger. It was cooked perfectly on point medium just how l like, great seasoning, crispy bacon, saluted onion jam, arugula, blue cheese sauce and a fresh soft brioche bun. Definitely prefer it over Kumas corner but not the best either. Definitely do not get the macaroni side salad that was the most bland and disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten, stick to the fries! Other then that 100% recommend!

Great neighborhood spot.
It was quiet when we went during the week but we had a blast. Happy hour was a good call to start the night. Food was awesome. I was surprised by how many Greta options they had on the menu.
We had chicharrón nachos a couple of burgers and the poutine. Everything was very well seasoned and aside of it being such a chill night, the service did not disappoint.

Ordered the vegan birria tacos with no cheese to go and they were so good!
The tacos were how quesabirria tacos would be. I would have liked more filling and onion and cilantro but they still were delicious as is. The consume was a bit on a thicker side and not so spicy but definitely flavorful.
I didn’t care for the corn side it was okay.
Definitely would come back and order them again!

This place was a really cool vibe! Our group of 6 got seated right away and served pretty fast as well. There was a wide variety of beers and we enjoyed a flight. I had the Southern Dandy burger and it was delicious but a little too many onions. Everyone’s food was amazing and would recommend!

Super friendly neighborhood bar/grill with amazing burgers! Truly nothing negative to say about The Bad Apple. They have a decent amount of outdoor seating with shade and larger “booths” for groups. Wide variety of beers on draft and tasty cocktails. Definitely try one of their burgers — I tried the Jake & Elwood and it was fantastic! Good size and a large portion of fries on the side as well. Their salads are pretty good too, particularly the Bad Apple salad. Very recommended!

The Bad Apple offers a refreshing and unique dining experience that’s hard to come by. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with a perfect blend of modern and cozy vibes. We had the pleasure of sitting outside, enjoying the lovely weather, which added to the overall charm of the place. The menu at The Bad Apple is impressive and large, featuring an array of mouthwatering burgers. The one that caught my eye was the Matterhorn. This burger is a true masterpiece, featuring smokey ham, pickles, arugula, mustard aioli, and raclette cheese poured tableside, all tucked in a pretzel bun. The flavors were extraordinary – the smokiness of the ham paired perfectly with the tangy pickles and the rich, creamy raclette cheese. The mustard aioli added a nice zing, and the pretzel bun was the perfect balance of soft and chewy. Every bite was a delight, and the unique combination of ingredients made for a memorable culinary experience. The texture of the burger was spot on, with each element complementing the other perfectly including the cheese so much cheese. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return. The Bad Apple is a gem, and I can’t wait to come back and explore the rest of their menu. Highly recommended!
