RIPPED OFF! Went here for lunch and paid $100 for what?! When we walked in, we were asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside. We chose outside, but nobody told us we had to go to a walk up window to order, so we sat there at an outside table waiting for about 30 minutes trying to entertain 3 hungry children. Finally figured it out! Great! There are no combos. You are charged separately for EVERYTHING! $16.50 for the sandwich. $5 for a side, which was trash. The potato salad was more like loaded mashed potatoes. $3.50-$5 for a small drink or a bottle Coke. The kids meal really pissed me off because where do you get off on charging $13 for a kids meal (we got 3) to give a kid 7 French fries and a dippin sauce size container of cantaloupe?! All 3 kids meals had to come with boxes of juice. Theres no other option.
The brisket sandwich was good, but not good enough to warrant ever coming back. This is the first place in New Orleans that I have ever had this type of complaint. Shameful.

Set at the bar. The bartender Eric was great. He went over the menu and answered any questions we had. Restarted with the wings. They are smoked and then flashed fried. What great appetizers. The drinks were on point also. We got the Rack of Ribs and the Brisket sandwich with coleslaw. Went home with leftovers. What great time we will be back.

Not delicious…Edible though. With growing boys that devour everything in the house, plates were sent back with half the food on the. The adult beverages were good, but were served in a tea cup. The outside area is now a defunct storage area with some dirty picnic tables. The company representative at the cash register probably has to remove several pieces of facial jewelry in order to get through the metal detector at the airport, just saying (boh jobs for people exist). Entertaining more than anything, but to each his own. Four people, one set of silverware delivered. Asked for more…one more set delivered. Service was poor all around. If they had servers that made tips, it would probably improve, but they have to fix the food first. Then get rid of the storage junk outside if you’re going to let people sit next to it.

This place was super cute, had fantastic service, and really good food! I got the Zeus for myself, the pimento dip, and deviled eggs for the table. I was able to try the brisket sandwich and boom burger, which were both delicious.

A hidden gem with flavor, fire, and fine bourbon

The Backyard in New Orleans delivered big on bold flavors and smooth sips. We kicked things off with their hot wings, and they were absolutely amazing—crispy, perfectly sauced, and packed with heat that didn’t overpower the flavor.

What really made the night, though, were the pours of their hand-selected wheated bourbon. Smooth, rich, and clearly chosen with care—this wasn’t your average bar pick. You can tell they know their whiskey here.

Great vibes, welcoming staff, and a solid whiskey list. Whether you’re after wings, bourbon, or both, The Backyard knows how to treat you right.

First visit here, but won’t be the last. Service was A++, food was on point and a great selection of bourbon and whiskey and a carefully curated tap list of local craft beer. Don’t miss the brisket sandwich, ask for a mix of lean and fatty brisket. Sauce in a cup on the side so I dipped mine, made it a little less messy. And some of the best brisket you’ll ever eat. Need to return for one of the several tasty sounding burger options. Thanks Jason and staff for a great lunch!

We found The Backyard while looking for local restaurants near city park. We were greeted by just about everyone as we walked in and chose an indoor seat. Or server LJ, who was being trained by Jennifer (I believe that’s what the receipt said), came quickly and took our drink order. We started with the Smoked Tuna dip which was delicious. The homemade chips were amazing and perfectly crunchy! For entrees I had the Boom Burger. My wife chose The Brisket. Everything came out fresh and hot! The Boom Burger had a nice kick due to the spicy Japanese mayo, and the portabella reduction added a nice flavor! The Brisket sandwich was amazing as well. The meat was very tender, and I enjoyed the fattier pieces my wife shared with me. It was definitely LOADED with meat! Maybe a suggestion would be to ask if fatty or meaty side of the brisket is preferred. Overall an amazing experience and looking forward to more beautiful days to sit outside!

Come spend your money here but listen! The Backyard has great BBQ sandwiches and an awesome happy hour. My boyfriend and I both had the Briskey Philly (special right now) and it had excellent flavor filled us up. I ended up taking half my sandwich home and I cannot wait to eat it as a snack later. The sweet potato fries were crispy and cooked perfectly (not burnt, very difficult to execute) and the tater tots had a very satisfying crunch. We had the pleasure of meeting Jason who is very knowledgeable when it comes to bourbon. I am not a bourbon aficionado but my boyfriend and I are definitely avid bourbon drinkers and we enjoyed speaking with him about what was available on the shelf right now and the must sees on the bourbon trail. If you live bourbon or are just trying to get into it- start here, it’s a friendly environment and they will guide you in the right direction. We had the opportunity to try a 9 year that will be released next Saturday and it was like drinking desert- if you like a caramel/molasses finish than this is the one for you! We also tried Leo (7 year) and found it to be very light and easy to drink. I tried Noah’s Hill 2023 and it was sweet (honey like) but initially very earthy; it reminded me of moss and was reminiscent of standing in the Redwood forests. It was a top notch lunch trip and we cannot wait to go back next Friday to pick up a bottle of that desert-like 9 year.

Jason- thanks for an awesome experience. We will be in next week!

We had the Pimento and cheese dip as an appetizer, which was very good. For entrees, we had the brisket sandwich, The Zeus sandwich (marinated grilled chicken), and crinkle fries. All were enjoyable and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

HOA approved! Good food, great service, fun atmosphere at reasonable prices. The Backyard is so good that not even an HOA could complain.

You can’t beat the prices and the service! We got an appetizer, a beer, a soda, 2 entrees and 1 side, it came to $45 before tip. The service was top notch, so attentive and all the food came out in great time. The food was good. The burger was a little salty, the pulled pork was a little dry but the sauce help with that, and the deviled eggs where wonderful.

The atmosphere was fantastic! We could watch the game but also just talk with the people you are with. The music selection was great and never to loud. We’ll definitely be back to get a couple drinks, food, and chill.
