The food was descent. I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes which was good, and the homemade baked mac and cheese with brisket my wife had ordered was excellent.

The staff was friendly and clearly trying hard, but the restaurant could really benefit from a more cohesive system. Service felt scattered at times, with missing silverware, delayed refills, and a long wait for food. Tightening up the service flow would make a big difference.

*I* personally had a fantastic amazing time dining here to celebrate my birthday and Ms Connie made it extra special. Seated fast. Seats available. Porch was available. SALAD BAR!! Great service/hospitality. Flavorful food. Nice variety on the menu. Nice/strong signature drinks.

A coworker recommended that we try this place out. So my wife and I went with another couple and we were very impressed. I got the salad bar & the baked potato with brisket. My wife got the shrimp and Grits and both were excellent! Our friends shared the whole hog and it was good too. We all shared the peach blueberry cobbler with ice cream and it was delicious. Our server was Connie and she was also very good and knowledgeable. We drove an hour to eat here an will do it again! Give them a try!

For anyone who misses Captain Jacks – not to worry, the BBQ on the Back Porch is the best. The Pit Master is well experienced in quality cuts of brisket and how to keep them moist. The sausage is made locally and seasoned well. Salad bar is kept well stocked. The highlight was the cornbread, sweet honey topping and a cake like consistency. Moist and delicious. I’m looking forward to peach season for their peach cobbler.

Found hair in my macaroni. The server was very apologetic but made no other attempt to recover. They charged me full price for food I couldn’t finish.. wild. He was a nice kid and I didn’t want to give him a hard time so I didn’t push further. Brisket was pretty dry but their sauces were good and helped mask it. The serving size of the platter left something to be desired, you get a little piece of cornbread and their sides are tiny. I had to greet the host after he walked off twice (not seating other parties) and didn’t bother to even say “hi, be with you in a moment”. And to top it off my bill had an “order processing fee” IN ADDITION TO a 4% fee they tack on for paying with card.

This was the old site of Barbara Jeans. We ordered the Rib Appetizer…..It is DELICIOUS!! Could have eaten the ribs as a main entree. . .sooooo good. Also ordered the half BBQ chicken with baked beans and sweet potatoes. Everything was good. Service was excellent. . . .waitress was very friendly. Ambiance of restaurant was “ok” but clean.

We were eager to support this restaurant when we recently learned they support the local high school’s band concessions. My first experience was to go and the turkey BLT croissant was great. We had a weeknight dinner next and when we arrived, there was no host. Turns out the bartender was also the hostess. Luckily, our waitress, Destiny, was wonderful; attentive, helpful, and went the extra mile. I consider myself a bit of a shrimp and grits connoisseur and they may have knocked my reigning champion! Excellent! My husband ordered the ribeye which was huge and a steal compared to other restaurants. The peach cheesecake was decadent. I went a third time w a friend on a Saturday night and the service was not great. We had to wait for a table so we went to the bar—no bartender. Then we got seated. No wait staff. The bartender finally appeared, doing double duty as our waitress. Our meals appeared before we ever got water (had to ask). The food was still amazing, but I hope they can iron out the service issues.

Our bartender Rachel was awesome. I had the burger with the candied bacon. I don’t remember the name of it and my husband had the smoked turkey and bacon sandwich on croissant. Our sides were string onion rings and mac & cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious including our cocktails. Rachael was attentive and made sure we were pleased.

Visited on Saturday night and was seated at a high top at the bar. Food was very good and the dessert as well. For sure to go back. Great for a meat and 2 or 2 meats and 3.

Great spot!!
