Love this place and the staff. Clean and friendly, good music and always feel safe here. They do not allow “rowdy” customers and do not encourage bad behavior.
They have a nice patio with corn hole and good lighting.

Marion and the entire Back Bar gang were phenomenal! I’ve never met a more friendly, kind, and helpful staff. And if things ever goes south like they can in a bar scene, they handle it in the most professional and mature manner I’ve experienced.

Would be your average weekend college bar, if the owner wasn’t trashy and rude. I’ve gone here multiple times with friends, and every single time I am being served by the owner, I am met with a negative attitude and a short temper; as if I am not the one paying them. Especially when it’s busy, this lady will get mouthy under pressure. I won’t give this place another dime. Not to mention, if they don’t like your tip they will kick you out. A place like this belongs in Wood River, not downtown Edwardsville.

This is a bar, not bar and Grill. They don’t serve food but they will serve you some awesome drinks! Bar tenders are great and will always have a great conversation with you if that’s what your looking for. They have live bands, make sure you come here when they’re playing!

I’ve been coming to this bar for three years. Great environment, and great service even when busy on college nights. The owner and bartenders are catering more than they need to be, and make you feel comfortable.

Just stopped by for a beer. It is not Laurie’s, it’s nicer. Don’t worry, it is not too super fancy. They have 10 draft beers, pool and darts. It is great the patio is still accessable, this town needs that. I’m looking forward to another great summer out there. We will be back.(bar)

Easy to discover why it’s called the Back Bar. It’s almost impossible to find. It sits in the back part of a building with no signs. Being an older couple, we like to eat a nice meal while enjoying some live music. This place has NO food, no character, and no hospitality. Learn how to run a business before opening one. Especially downtown Edwardsville. Nothing good to offer here. Don’t waste your time. Chose a different spot.

They lady bartender ( possible owner ?) was very rude. Doesn’t know how to serve customers in a timely/ orderly manner also. Tries to make sad excuses when you call her out on it, then gets upset at you. I will never be back to that bar again. By reading reviews just now, this seems like a theme.

We asked for lights by the bags board and the owner came out and put up lights for us. Never had something Jan like this. Also the college crowd is fun but not too much. Great atmosphere.
