A great all around place. Good selection of drinks and food was quality ingredients. There is regular entertainment here. I will be back next time I am in the area. Stop in, have a beer and snacks, and check out the upstairs views.

This one star rating has no reflection on the drag queen brunch or musical performers here! Most of the staff are even nice but this one male bartender really ruined the night for my friend and I. Mind you, I’m not someone who goes out often, but when I do and I buy the most expensive thing on the menu, tip well, and am a polite patron, it’s appalling to be treated rudely and basically kicked out at the end of the night because my friend and I went on a short walk, came back for one last nightcap, and were basically called liars; that we might’ve gotten a drink somewhere else?! I’m still shaken up by the brash treatment and will not be going back if that nasty man is working the bar. His overall bad attitude was off-putting from the start and as someone just trying to have a nice pleasant evening and relax with friends, he made it hard to do so. I plan on going back to Axe&Fiddle but I will not step foot into the place if his grim face is behind the bar and you shouldn’t either! Save your money, save yourself, and just stay home because you could probably make better food and drinks just on your own! You deserve better than the service they apparently provide. To the owner, you should fire this person, ‘cause not only is he joyless in his job, he sucks the joy out of his customers.

I’ve been to Axe & Fiddle a few times in the past for music and drinks and always loved the charm of the building and intimate stage setup. We went last weekend for food though and I was really impressed! Our group got burgers, pulled pork poutine, and I had a chicken sandwich – everything was so good! They also had Guinness on draft which was a plus. Great live music, shuffleboard upstairs, chill atmosphere, really friendly helpful staff – would recommend!
