Our hostess, Megan, was genuinely exceptional—warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without ever interrupting the flow of our evening. She checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of space to enjoy a quiet anniversary dinner.

The food was outstanding across the board, and the atmosphere struck that rare balance of upscale and relaxed. It felt classy without being stuffy, and the dining room had a calm, comfortable energy.

We went at 7:45 p.m. on a Monday, which turned out to be the ideal time: not crowded, not loud, and perfect for a special night out. Overall, a fantastic experience.

This place has been on my list for a while and we decided to close out the holiday season by treating ourselves. Everything as excellent. The food, the service, the atmosphere.

The staff worked together seamlessly. It was great to see. The meal was paced too so we could take out time and enjoy ourselves.

Our server was Maggie G and she was excellent.

We started with the crab cake. Perfect crunch and so much crab. I got the ribeye with parsley potatoes as my side. I was very happy with how tender and delicious my steak was. Potatoes were yum. Wife got the porchoo and cream spinach. Both also delish.

We will be back.

The Avenue is a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. We have been to most of them in the Columbus area and always very happy with our meals. We started off with cocktails, a Manhattan and a Staten Island Ferry (delicious). One of our companions had a expresso martini and raved about it. We both had a Caesar Salad and it was very good with a proper serving. For our main course, I had beef stroganoff and my husband had scallops. The beef stroganoff was delicious and enough for at least two meals and my husband really enjoyed his scallops. We shared a dessert of some type of apple crisp with ice cream. Not particularly memorable. Since we had a show to see, the waitress was very accommodating and we received our meals with time to spare. She was very attentive and was always making sure our water glasses were filled. Five stars for her! Overall it was a delicious meal and the price point was fair of around $138.00 without tip.

Yes: The Avenue lands in the top spot for Best Overall Dining Experience & Steakhouse east of the Mississippi. There’s a reason some places are staples of the community and the entire state… the kind of place that provides proud service, highest of chefs effort, with impeccable plating. The location presents one of the highest-end, yet comfortable environments you’ll experience.. Make reservations, and go ready to try the green beans appetizer! There’s about 25-30 beans on the plate, and that’s enough for a table of 6.. had to know the count! Kids menu gets an up-charge of abt ten dollars but the portions are just right for the kids, so stick to it. The adult meals are fabulous, fantastic, fresh, fine dining! Could cut both sides of the porterhouse with a fork.
No more rambling on, end score is- go here once, and you’ll make it a tradition!

My recent visit to The Avenue was nothing short of incredible, and I can confidently say that Ryan and the rest of the team absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what turned out to be a flawless dining experience.

Let’s start with the food—every dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Whether it was the appetizers or the main course, each bite was a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and the creativity in the menu was truly impressive.

As for the drinks, they were just as outstanding. The cocktails were expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of flavors that complemented the meal wonderfully. The wine selection was also top-notch, offering great pairings for every course.

But what really made the experience unforgettable was the service. Ryan himself was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His enthusiasm and dedication elevated the entire meal.

In short, this place is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food, exceptional drinks, and outstanding service. I can’t recommend it enough—10/10 in every way!

Wedding Anniversary Dinner! Salads & Rolls were Great & the mixed Drinks are Strong! Porterhouse Steak was ordered at Medium & it was more Medium Rare. But it was seasoned, juicy, tender & super yummy! Lamb Chops were ordered at Medium. They are 4, but come out as double Chops. When I cut them apart, they were RAW from top to bottom. Fat not rendered out. Completely inedible. Sent them back. This mishap made it so that hubby & I couldn’t eat together, which is what you hope to do for an Expensive night out! They put my Chops in pan, raw side down, but Didn’t bother to Season the raw meat. No caramelization was achieved & sadly it was not tasty until I doused them Wth Salt & Pepper from table. At $57.99 for this meal, I’d be sure to tell them to be properly cook them together or separate & season both sides! Or season on raw side & hot pan sear! We Love Cameron Mitchell restaurants & will eventually try them all. Our waiter, Luke is attractive & intelligent! Kind, courteous & attentive! He said the Desserts are handmade by a pastry chef. They were good. But Any Creme Brulee pleases my hubby. For me, the cheesecake lacked flavor, body & density, like you expect from a NY Cheesecake. Sour Cherry topping paired well with the cheesecake. Music is eclectic. Amy Winehouse, Lionel Richey, Louis Armstrong, Big Band & Italian songs.

I absolutely cannot rave about this place enough, the crab cake will have me driving back 3 hours for more. My partner and I had the skirt steak and salmon and both were flavorful and melt in your mouth. The crab cake was worth every penny so much so that we tried to get another to go before leaving town but unfortunately the kitchen had already closed. And our server Yusef really made the whole experience, if you can get seated in Yusef’s section you are in for a treat! We felt like the only one’s there even on a packed friday night.

We dined here for our 6 year anniversary dinner and could not have been happier with our choice. We were seated 15 minutes early for our 7pm reservation, and promptly given water. Our server Chandler was great. He took the time to explain the menu, specials and make recommendations for drinks. Throughout the evening he was very attentive and available, at the end of our meal he even boxed my leftovers and gave us a free dessert!
I was more than impressed with the food. The rolls were soft and pillowy on the inside, but had a wonderfully crisp crust with just the right amount of salt. The tavern salad was truly refreshing too. The greens were crisp and fresh, the slightly sweet vinaigrette was perfectly mixed and the gorgonzola cheese was a fantastic compliment to it all.
The beef stroganoff was absolutely divine. The sauce was one of the best I have ever had! The noodles were perfectly cooked and thick, there was plenty of tender beef and a generous amount of mushrooms. I came hungry and could only eat half of it too! I would order this over and over again!
My fiancé ordered the porterhouse with asparagus and a side of scallops. He raved about the scallops all night! He said they were the best he has had, even better than a seafood restaurants’. He enjoyed his steak as well, which was cooked just to his liking and seasoned nicely. He almost started chewing the bone to get the last bits of meat off! He said the asparagus had a light lemon and salt flavor.
To finish the meal we chose the crème brûlée. The crust was thick, the custard rich and the whole thing quite addictive. I would order it again for sure.
Our meal, which had 2 cocktails too, came out to under $200 even with a 25% tip. We think it was certainty worth the price for the attentiveness of the staff and quality and flavors of the food we received. We are looking forward to coming back!

My wife and I had reservations for 5:45. We arrives at the Grandview location on the dot and expected to be seated promptly. They were clearly busy, as one would expect on a Friday evening. However, their front of house guest waiting area is the size of a hallway closet. The way we were all packed in, basically standing on top of their staff and those unfortunate enough to be seated near this area, was crazy. We ended up waiting for 25 minutes like this. With reservations. We were finally sat, and had a wonderful waiter, the service he provided was excellent. The scallops my wife had were great, the Cod special I picked last minutes, was just ok. A tad undercooked and not much going on with it. I should have stuck to my original choice, the branzino. I expected a bit more from a CM restaurant, this dinner and experience really wasn’t worth the $160 (before tip) price tag it came with.
